Ok time for my second "female confession". There was this chick I had a crush on; we were both playing an acting role in this school production in my last year before uni. She smiled at me a couple of times in rehearsals so I thought there was a chance she was into me. I never actually talked to her in person outside of the school play because I found it easier to talk to girls on facebook. So I started talking to her; I'd typically send her some thoughtful, well-written paragraphs about my life and also ask her some detailed questions about her life. It seemed like things were going well because she'd always respond to my messages as opposed to just ignoring them. But ultimately it turned out she wasn't actually into me and said I was just "a nice guy" instead - not someone she would date.

I asked my mates and they seemed to think that my fb messages were too long, that I shouldn't have written her paragraphs and instead just made my messages short and pack them with flirty phrases and winky emoticons etc. But my worry is if my messages are too short then i don't have enough room to get my points across and they wouldn't be as thoughtful or meaningful as the longer messages I sent her. Thoughts?

Kinda takes the fun out of the story to break it down and explain it but we were hanging out, having fun, making out a little in a private room and then over the course of 30 or 40 minutes she got a series of texts and her mood slowly changed until she was crying and explained what was going on. Then we left. It wasn't a case of "oh, here's a message, uhhhh my boyfriend just killed himself, gotta go, bye".
