I will say though, even if the $ is crappy, it's fun just being around people on a consistent basis again, poker was so anti social not even funny. Been like 3 months, if by a year or alil more have passed & i'm not promoted i probably think about going back to school to do my masters, not sure yet.

How is everybody here doing though?, hope all is well.

Well I'm going to be a teacher so it's more 8-3:30ish, but nevertheless it's not the free time that I care about at this point. The fact I'm relatively poor as a uni student means my free time isn't spent that interestingly. I mean yeah, I have lots of time off to just bum around but it feels like a waste most of the time.

Though you are right, I will almost certainly miss it when I have a bad week or term teaching, however I think the trade off will worth it. I view it as less free time, however the free time I will have will be better spent both because I'll have more money to do more interesting things and I'll appreciate it more (because I'll just have less of it).

Hate to break it to ya dude but I have several friends who are teachers and every one of them spends most of their evenings doing either lesson plans or marking so don't be under any illusion that your workday will be over at 3:30.

Teaching can def be pretty rewarding tho. What you gonna be teaching?

Primarily math, but also some IT/Multimedia/Graphic stuff. I've talked to some teachers while on prac and fortunately math teachers' marking is way easier and faster than English and History and those essay based courses. It will be tougher in the first year or two until my lesson plans are memorised though.

The day will end at 3:30 was based on my high school math teacher I talked to as he does all his marking in the lunch break and because he's done it for a while, doesn't need to lesson plan anymore. Sounds pretty good to me!

It's also much easier when you're single, no mortgage, no kids...

I feel like 60k a year will be plenty for sure.

Also sales would have to be the worst job you could have in my experience. I preferred working in the McDonalds kitchen than selling people **** they don't want.

If they want it they can just buy it from the store. That`s your job inducing a need.

lol jobs. went for a job interview last friday. Woman said they required 5 years of relevant working experience minimum. Well okay ma'am, see you in 10 years.

25 and 2 bachelors and it means nothing. Was actually considering a masters degree after this year, doubt it's worth it.

I have no idea how anyone has 5 years of experience. In 5 years I plan to be retired or dead depending on how I run.

That's the problem. A lot of entry level jobs require a year or two of experience. So if you have none or only four months, gg.

What are your degrees in and what are you planning on getting a masters in?

It doesnt even make sense tbh. She knows my age, she can also see my degree(s) yet she invites me for an interview only to make an issue of the lack of relevant work experience.

I did a bachelor in IBMS, biggest waste of time so decided a few years back to study something a bit more specific and now Im close to done with a bachelor in Finance and control. Will likely do a masters in Finance and control as well.

The real issue is, I am forced to apply for ****ty ass jobs like an assistant financial controller just to gain experience, after being in school for like a million years.

Was same for me back in teh days. They expect 5y working experience right after graduation for a job you could essily do after 2 weeks practise. Teh whole realjob world is just lol and im happy i wont be part of it this life or teh next

Asked her if she could explain to me how someone my age, who clearly choose a longer time in school to ''invest'' in himself can possibly have 5 years of relevant working experience. She had no idea.

I then asked her, what's the point of school, if you people are going to assume we're all mongs once we graduate, cause clearly being schooled isn't enough. You need 5 years worth of experience to proof you're not a ******. She couldn't answer this either..

The worst thing of it all is, the job itself is quite sick. Like the pay was really good and they offered **** like lease cars etc. Just the idea that it's all pretty unreachable atm sucks.

Yeah i definitely like that aspect too. Its a good confidence boost for sure.

i feel like i need more qualifications but im not sure what direction to take, also im currently an apprentice so ill earn a qualification whilst getting work experience which is nice - its a decent start anyway.

I think the logical step is some sort of team leading/management qualification or a degree but im not sure, ill probably just keep grinding the 9-5 life until i know what direction i want to go in.
