Marci moved me to table 5. I think she was frazzled at the moment, and didn't get that I was changing my request from any table to that table. Got raped at the other table; it was ugly. Down swing continues.
How'd you do? Oh, and what is that guy's name (so i don't have to keep calling him "your friend')

Sadface =( I swonged all over the place, but the table stayed good until 4a, and thus I stayed until 4a. Ended up a lil, which I was fine with after some really odd/suck hands. My friend's name is Jon
(speaking of floor...did you know that MGM has some odd house rules?)

No, all the rules I have noticed enforced have been enforced exactly the same as at the V. What rules are you thinking of?

1.) if you are on the river in a HU pot, you are unable to show your cards before showdown
2.) if you get to a showdown and your opponent mucks before you show your cards, you still need to show both of your cards to win the pot

I have been told by dealers at the MGM that rule 1 is not actually a house rule in the cash games, but that it is a tourney rule that some dealers mistakenly enforce at the cash tables.
I heard a floor manager mention rule 2 as an additional reason why he was ruling in my favor in a disputed hand. I just assumed that he could not possibly have meant what he actually said, lol. FWIW, I NEVER see dealers enforce this rule.

rule 1 is certainly a tourny rule (and a good one at that)...when I asked the floor about it they said it was created to protect fish (as you usually flip your cards up pre-showdown on the river to generate a read from your opponent). The floor got really snippy with me when I asked them to go into more detail why they are creating rules with that rationale...but I dropped it after they started getting visibly heated...
I've never seen a dealer act on rule 2 either...but I was also shocked when floor backed it up. I really dislike room-specific rules like that (although Red Rock is pretty crazy with house-rules as well)

Rule 2 isn't all that uncommon. Called the 'Cloutier rule' b/c TJ once won a hand after mucking his cards. He didn't see a 2nd opponent still considering a call, mucked his cards, saw opponent (who hadn't noticed the muck), and put his size XXXXL hands over the spot his cards would usually be. Opponent ended up mucking and TJ won.
Digger jinxed us. Currently getting our one snowfall of the year and it's a good one. BAD, MONKEY,BAD!!!!!!
