then had this hand vs a reg who bluffs wayyy too much,

Getting 4 bet holding AK.

I've folded 56 times this year losing 1037bbs/100

I've flatted 160 times losing 641bbs/100

I've 5 bet 213 times losing 417bb/100

Over all I've 3bet AK 3688 times and am winning 220bb/100.

Seems like getting 4 bet with AK really sux but jamming may be the least worst option.


This is the hand that got me think about. V is a long time reg that I don't think too much off. He 4 bets 17% in EP and 14% in MP (300 or so samples in 20K hands) and he's folded to a 5bet 3 out of 5 times. Meh, shove is probably fine.

I would fold to the 4bet. I mean 17% 4bet from EP isn't even as high as it looks.

For reference, over my recent 9k sample of 10nl zoom my 4bet after raising stat from UTG was 25% and UTG+1 27%. My 4bet range from these positions is limited to KK+ (sometimes I won't even have a 4bet range vs regs cos of how strong it looks). I admit I've probably been running good over this sample but even still, it goes to show that 17% 4bet from EP over 20k hands doesn't really tell you much. 4bet by position also takes an incredibly long time to converge so I would just ignore it completely.

If someone opens a 10% range from EP, then even a 4bet range QQ+/AK already accounts for over 25% 4bet, and that still has AKo crushed. So when you ship over someone who only 4bets 17% then AKo is rarely going to be a profitable shove, and like me you could be getting it in vs KK+

edit: I guess my 4bet % could increase from EP due to the presence of short-stacked fish as I'm much happier getting in a wider range then, so that kinda makes it even worse for you

edit 2: also my 4bet is 36% for UTG+2 over the 9k sample lol

In general shoving against those stats is mandatory. That being said given positions and that players tend to 4b tighter vs SQ from my experience as usual it depends
