Yeah c'mon Martl, you will need to really analyse and learn to check back turns with monsters if you ever hope to beat 5NL.

@OP do you still check behind if turn is a 9,6 or any club?

Op your an idiot. Martl may god have mercy in your soul. Your line is the only right one in 5nl. Bet bet and bet more for value. If he doesn't have a hand Ure not getting his stack anyways. So stop checking and betting small hoping for villain to catch up. What u doing on the river? Bet 4 into 1.25? No exactly. Pot pot shove and laugh when he flips over a lower set.

Edit: My point was. You beat 5nl by value betting. Not by slowplaying your aces hoping he rivers a miracle.

If villain has a lower set, then we don't need to pot/pot/shove. DUCY?

Point was. No need to get fancy. If villain has a piece of this board ur getting paid off. If he has a set yes we will get his stack, but we don't have to check the turn to do that. And once again. The way to win at 5nl is value betting. Not dick measuring, omg brag I made such a sick slowplay.

Re: Nl5 zoom AA hitting set IP 3-bet pot - value maximizing

I would bet bet shove but I would highly prefer to check back flop/call turn/jam river than that this bet check bet line.

Like you're not getting called lightly when you check back the turn here and he's prob not bluffing. When you do this it just looks like you have some weak top pair hand or something like QQ/KK sometimes and such. What hands do you think he will bet on the river that he won't call a turn bet with? He's not going to value bet JJ-KK or w/e on the river, he's not going to fold an Ace on the turn, and he has like zero air to get to the river this way so he can't bluff either.

At least if you want to take an alternate line, when you check back flop there are some weaker hands in your range that he might try to barrel off like maybe a 98s or QQ and that sorta thing. Plus you don't make him c/f all his air.

Lastly, betting 30c on the flop would be horrendous. It's not going to change his continuation range at all.

I have to say I was fan of slowplaying and then read some threads and HH and realised how much value you are losing from it in the long run. If YOU op, ever want to crush NL5, listen to guys who were crushing micros long before you flopped your first set.
