NL10 99 facing squeeze?

Villain 1 UTG+1 26 hands 52/19
Villain 2 MP+1 82 hands 18/13

PokerStars - $0.10 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

MP+1: $10.51
CO: $10.46
BTN: $12.38
SB: $14.91
BB: $4.30
UTG: $10.73
UTG+1: $9.55
Hero (MP): $10.00

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero has 9 9

fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.30, Hero calls $0.30, MP+1 raises to $1.20, fold, fold, fold, fold, UTG+1 calls $0.90, Hero calls $0.90

Flop: ($3.75, 3 players) 4 7 3
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $3.00

Any opinions on this? I felt that villain 2 had been on the table enough to figure out that villain 1 was probably raising wide - felt he was trying to squeeze. Was also happy to take the pot down on the flop as I don't think he hit anything.

Re: NL10 99 facing squeeze?

Which villain is which, and what are hero's stats?

If MP+1 is villain 2, I'm putting him on AA, KK. Maybe AK depending on fold to 3bet %'s of villain 1 and hero.

I'm also new and playing at 10nl, but shouldn't we be check/calling the turn, seeing as we fold out worse hands, and get called by better? If MP+1 has AA, KK, AK(2 spades), or AK(1 spade), he calls. But if he has AK(no spade) he folds.

I would probably fold pre unless I knew he was squeezing wide. On flop if we think his range is wide, play might be dependent on how wide he cbets. I'm inclined to c/c if he cbets his entire range.

Re: NL10 99 facing squeeze?

Have sorted it out to make it clear

Is my thinking wrong here?
If i c/c, i have no idea where i really stand in the hand on later streets, especially OOP and I can't really be folding to a single bet there with a FD + overpair

if i bet and he raises or calls, i can fold to a raise (can i?) and if he calls, he either has pair 10+ or AxKs AsKs and I can evaluate and be happy to c/f? I don't think any wideish squeeze is going to continue there

or is that just bad.

I wasn't too concerned with Villain 1

Re: NL10 99 facing squeeze?

you say mp1 hasn't hit anything but if he is squeezing because of weak preflop open then tt+ AJ+(with a spade) def in his range

flop is wet I don't think you will get a fold that often if mp1 does have tt+ or a/k of spades - utg is a fish so you have to think about getting your hand through him too.

id have called pre too with utg calling the 3bet giving me good odds to set-mine - I don't know if flop bet is +ev, it does look strong multiway and you might get mp1 to fold hands which can realise equity on turn(which is good here cos most turn cards are bad for you) - I'd take nit option and check/fold though and pick a better spot to get the utg fish money.

just cos you check doesnt mean mp1 wont check behind - then you have a better idea of hand strength, but if i put $1.20 into set mine i dont want to call another $3ish to see where I am on turn when most turn cards are bad for me
