agreed we should be careful, but I got minraised yesterday by a passive and he held top 2. Sadly for me, I had top pair + NFD and couldn't get away...

+1 this is old. surprised no one mentions anything about a freeze play.

(freezplay is minraise on the turn in position so that villian will check the river and u can check behind. )

Just check in the Concept of the Week Schedule thread at the top of the forum. Everything you could possibly want to read in there.

Re: Minraise data analysis - micro stakes (long)

I agree this is ancient, but upon reading it, I think the concepts are probably still pretty accurate. I'm also willing to bet that the majority of the fish that minraise today haven't changed greatly from those of yonder-years. The work OP put in is pretty filthy.

I wouldn't say I'm going to start snap folding to m/r but I think this data shows (relatively conclusively) that min/r occur with avg hands better than TP. Agree with several comments about the sick odds you get, but I think for those people who are super confused when they are min/r, this will help.

Is it just me but do fish tend to min-raise paired boards wayyy more often than other boards?

and it's usually as a "see where I'm at" bet with TP or air and almost never trips.
