Thoughts on this hand and on my thought process?

My thought process:

Pre-flop:
Attempted steal (I do this every once in a while, sometimes show up with a big hand).

Flop:
Maybe the bet was too thin as I tried to give myself good pot-odds if he called.

As he checked flop on a wet board, I put him on Jx, 2x as I thought he would've bet with Kx to charge for draws. Two pairs/trips do not scare me as I have a flush draw.

I called his raise which did not give me appropriate pot odds, but I believe his quick and large re-raise sizing indicated he would continue aggression on later streets irrespective of further cards, thus giving me great implied odds to make the call.

Turn:
He makes a significant raise into the pot which I believe was large enough to commit him to it, so I decide to raise all-in. If he had KJ or a higher flush draw, then so be it.

Don't steal so wide from someone with 28/11 stats. Steal from the 11/9's. Also you should play less hands in general with your stats. You are calling opens too much (this is bad). Personally I run 22/15 on super fishy tables where its just profitable to play any decent hand. 29/12 is way too loose passive preflop, remember you want to avoid calling raises because raises indicate a strong hand.

Flop bet is pretty weird and a lot of people will just call it making it pointless. Can work against some opponents but I would avoid this.

His check raise was pretty weird but who cares.

I agree with your thinking that he likes his hand enough for you to jam. If he had a set you would charge him to pair the board as well.

Thanks dude for the thoughts, and yeah I agree with the stats, I should try to focus on my HUD stats more-so when making decisions.

Also recommendations on how to play the flop? Should I have just checked?

stealing wide is fine v. these blinds but you wont get many folds preflop you will have to take the pot away post flop to be profitable. this can often take 2 barrels or a delayed cbet depending on the board texture.

flop play is fine

turn play is pretty bad. the board has paired and a guy with stats that lean towards the passive side has XR the flop then fired big on the turn when the flush comes in. When you shove your significantly reducing the number of hands he is going to call with (trip K prob one of the worst they may even fold this) that you beat. I would have called turn and called river. This way your not narrowing villains range.

Don't steal so wide with absolute junk. If you steal with 73s you are pretty much stealing with any two cards and will be getting into plenty of difficult spots. Fold equity is a big part of stealing, which is why stealing vs nits is so much more profitable.

Having said that, if both players in the blinds were complete nits say with a fold to steal of 80% and about 1% 3-bet, then it's acceptable to steal with any two cards.

Flop bet is way too small but a c-bet makes sense. What does a bet that size accomplish? Go half pot at least. Calling the flop raise is fine. If Villain re-raised you with a K or with two pair you have good implied odds on top of already good pot odds.

On the turn, you kind of need to decide whether you are playing for stacks or not. Given the flop re-raise Villain definitely has Kx, KJ, 22 in their range. Other than that, it is possible though not very likely that you are facing a bigger flush since players often loosen up when calling from the blinds.

If you think Villain will call you with second best hands, shoving is the correct play. It also has the advantage of charging a higher club for a flush that would beat you.

If undecided about whether Villain with call with second best hands (and let's be honest you only had 57 hands on Villain), I'd lean towards just calling and re-evaluating the river. I very much doubt you'd get away from this hand though unless the river pairs the board again or another K comes.

The gap between your VPIP and PFR is huge. That needs a lot of work.
