Floating has been dealt with. It was an ex tempore thing and came out of nowhere. The stuff in the thread got so deep and so utterly involved that the participants (and mpethy, of course) decided to promote it to CotW status. Still one of the threads I haven't read properly through. If it hadn't happened, I would have volunteered to write on the subject myself.

The other subject you propose is at the same time too narrow and too wide, I think. It ties heavily into player reads, board texture, ranges and combination of pot equity + fold equity. Either it gets exhausted immediately or goes on forever. A few properly selected sample hands might make grand PAHWM threads instead.

ok, ricky, dubbing on dec 7?

*split*, "transitioning to lag for dec 14? (we were supposed to have this one a few weeks back and it got missed, so that'll be a great pick up).

Re: ****Concept of the Week" Schedule and Table of Contents****

It would be really good if someone wrote smth about how to defend against light 3-betting.
Ppl are starting to 3-bet u light even at NL10 Today I was 12tabling NL10 and the guy(a reg) was constantly 3-betting me light. Over smth like 500-1k hand sample he had 3-bet 8.5%. So COTW about this would be really really good.. If ppl start 3-betting light at NL25..pff wtf happends at NL50? I didn't see anyone who 3-bets that much even at NL25(haven't played it so much though..smth around 10k hands)

Didn't really look at these too much until now. Lot of these are really well done. If you're not already full I'd like to do one on mental game I think. Got most actual poker concepts covered and I think it's something a lot of people overlook and I could cover pretty well.

There have been 2 COTWs that covered this well already imo.

They should be good for another read if you haven't read 'em in a while.

Re: ****Concept of the Week" Schedule and Table of Contents****

Maybe someone could do one on multi-tabling (especially 10+ tables). It might seem pretty self explanatory or unnecessary, but I think there are a couple of interesting things could be explored. For example, I find it very hard to play 12 tables without going into robot mode. I've heard of players playing like 20 tables (not tiled) yet still take notes DURING the session. I find this very difficult. I end up having to take post session notes instead and even then I get lazy and mostly don't do it.

TBH, I think that a more detailed look at certain COTW is worthy. Greg did an excellent job of taking the knn05's 3bet COTW and extending it to 3betting light.

Ideas would include, "How to exploit having position on a villain, "Advanced leak detection, " or "Becoming a coach for fun and profit."

Re: ****Concept of the Week" Schedule and Table of Contents****

I suggest having a COTW on "Paired Flops." Perhaps next year, in light of mpethy saying to cover certain situations in more details next year. It's still a v general topic, as 17% of all possible flops are paired. But it's an interesting topic as balancing, bluffing, and re-bluffing are particularly important issues on paired boards.

Re: ****Concept of the Week" Schedule and Table of Contents****

i am having some problems with those "overbet shoves" mostly on river.

not the ones done by fishes, but those ones done by the typical TAG style reg. i watched some videos from deucescracked and saw them doing this play mainly with middle pairs during a very weak play (bet/call flop, check/check turn).

this play is not in my toolbox yet, so i'd be interessting reading about it.

it is not often done at FR. it is done however when you think you are getting folds a ton (to this specific betsize), but a normal bet would be called very often

I'd just add you see it a lot in the lower regions of the micros. Typically it will be a player that has super slow played his monster because he didn't want everyone to fold and realized the river is his last chance to get paid off.

Isn't that like super exploitable? Idk when I would ever do this except to the fishiest of fish for value.

you are assuming a 24 tabling HUDbot is going to hand read =)

also...if you are doing this against certain ppl...then you should also be balancing by shoving the nuts as well

zachvac, could you do the mental game for 21 Dec? That'd be awesome and would close us out for the year.
