I don't know why you would say it is site-specific when ante games are an excepted form of poker live. It's not like FTP invented them! 2plus2 is about all forms of poker both online and live. So FTP has ante games and PS does not. So what? In any case if we do a COTW about ante games we'll all be ready if/when PS adds them. Better sooner than later IMO.

Absolute has them too so definitely not unique to FT.

Really not much changes, except it's better to play deep for implied odds and you need to defend your blinds a little more because good players will try and steal more because there is more dead money in the pot preflop.

I'm sold on a COTW on adjusting to ante tables. Somebody want to volunteer to write it?

There is no COTW for 9th of Nov just because Greg's post is so good that everyone needs more than 1 week to understand it and work on their 3betting?

Someone should do one on how to make the most of a sweat session?

hmmmm i figure Ill do one now. Just want to come up with a cool topic but one that doesn't give out anything that can be used against me :/

Could do ante games but that might be boring.

Re: ****Concept of the Week" Schedule and Table of Contents****

Would there be any interest in a COTW on either:

1) Having a plan
2) Reasons to bet

I feel like I need to contribute more, and these two subjects seem to be a big problem area in a large proportion of hands that are posted on the forum.

I think you could actually combine these into a really nice COTW. They really go hand in hand. If pressed I'd really prefer reasons to bet though.

+1

* Steal or Small value Pot or commit?
* Commitment threshold = 10% of stack ===> must have commitment plan
* Committed if 30% stack bet so don't bet it unless committed
* What Turn/River cards are good/bad?
* Varies by opponent style (calling station/aggrodonk/nit/reg)

Re: ****Concept of the Week" Schedule and Table of Contents****

I went through the thread and deleted a lot of posts (about half of them were mine). No disrespect intended, I just want to keep this thread on track.

_________________________________________________

We need 5 more concept of the week posts to get us through the end of the year. I don't want to do topics just for the sake of getting through the year, but there must be 5 things worth covering that we haven't covered yet.

Please post some ideas.

______________________________________

I'd also like to start a discussion ITT about where we should take the COTW next year. I think we will have trouble filling next year with new posts on new concepts; we have done a good job of covering most situations.

So here are my ideas that I have been toying with:

1. For the remainder of the year: I am pretty sure that I am going to reserve the last COTW of the year for myself, and do a "Best of the COTW, 2009" post summarizing what I view as the most vital concepts we covered this year.

2. As for next year: I think there is merit to covering certain situations in more detail. So what I am thinking is that we dedicate 2010 to APPLYING the concepts previously discussed by having COTW that link to (or quote) the original COTW thread and then the new poster posts a hand or hands that he thinks illustrates the main points of the concept, refutes the previous discussion, is an exception to the general rule in the original post, or whatever. Thoughts?

3. I am not opposed to including in 2010 some COTW threads like those we have done this year, provided that they are on new topics, or sub-topics that were not covered in detail in the 2009 concepts of the week thread. In this regard, I will be in an ideal situation when writing the summary COTW to look at previous subjects, see a paragraph, and think, "gee, this warrants an entire thread on its own."

These are just some preliminary thoughts I have come up with while worrying about the approaching end of the year.

What does everybody else think?

Re: ****Concept of the Week" Schedule and Table of Contents****

As I said above, I'm interested in writing about "reasons to bet" and "having a plan". These could be 2 separate topics, or could possibly be combined.

Re: ****Concept of the Week" Schedule and Table of Contents****

How about a CoTW on when to double barrel/triple barrell?

Someone could cover what type player to barrel, board texture, bet sizing, etc.

I hate when my cbet gets called and I missed never know what to do on turn.

Obviously I am unqualified to do this

Re: ****Concept of the Week" Schedule and Table of Contents****

Mpethy...not sure what the end of the year schedule looks like (because I havnt checkd this OP in quite some time)...but if you need one...I would be happy to do "how to get the most out of a coaching/sweat session"

I just ask that I have at least 2-3 weeks to get it done if I am on the board for it. Just shoot me a PM if you want this and I will get it done (as I dont check this thread too too often)

That sounds like it could be an interesting read, but I don't think there's a weeks worth of discussion in it.
