flop x is whateva imo. was a tight fish that I wanted him to a) b/b with AQ/AK vs me checkin b) x/c down after I check which I don't think he'll do vs a b small/b/b line. with any other OP I'm going to just bet and fwiw I never expect him to turn up with 55 but if he has that he can have lots of stupid bs that might start punting.

Why are we betting small on flops that are good for our range? Shouldn't we be betting bigger on flops like AKx AQx J33 or 544 so that we can put pressure on a range we crush and also get paid and be betting smaller or checking more on flops like JT9? Am I missing something here?

That's the exact reason why we should bet small in those textures, by doing so we can do it with 100% of our range and be fine with that. The reasons behind that are: when we have a good hand, we're more likely to get value from worse and when we have a bluff, we are able to do it for a cheaper price.

if you cbet your entire range with a 75% cbet on a A27r board, villain will be able to print money by raising you. If you decide to cbet a polarized range and check your medium-strength hands, villain will be able to capitalize on that by applying more pressure on your SDV hands.

I'm not saying that one of those strategies is right and the other isn't, both high frequency cbetting and low frequency cbetting are fine, the only thing you shouldn't do is to bet big at a high frequency or bet small at a low frequency.

on more action flops like JT9, you should be checking more, since most of your hands will suffer a lot against a raise, but when you bet, you should bet bigger in order to charge draws and to semi-bluff more effectively, since you're checking more parts of your range, then you should be betting more with the other part of it.

Also if you're OOP, you should have a check-raising range for those kinds of boards.

Yes numerous times over the last 3 years. First we tried it for 100z FR. We had a thread and skype group with start times etc. It worked a few times but then died out completely.

Did the same for 50z FR, again it died.

Definitely not cbetting my whole range or close to it on A72r. That assumption could get you in big trouble, just saying. Nor would I cbet 1/3 pot 100% of the time like a few people seemed to think was a good idea. Let's just agree to disagree.

Also, arp revival thread from 2015.

How much are you guys defending the BB v an SB open? I'm at 47.4% (cold calls and 3bets) and get the feeling it should be a bit higher.

I'm defending close to 40% vs 3bb opens & feel pretty good about it. Discussed in rapidesh blog with some other posters & they seem to think you should open wide in the sb n defend wide but i like to play balance without too much data on my opponent & tis hard not to play exploitable preflop opening in the sb wide or defending bb wide imo.
