AK open from EP, flop KK8 2-tone, x or cbet?

That's more of a general question, but let's say that we have AKo in EP and we open it normally. We get 2 callers (from EP and MP). All stacks in play are 100 bb.
Flop comes KK8 2-tone (we don't have the A for the backdoor flush draw).
Against a "standard" NL25 Zoom table, what's your default play here, check or cbet? What's your reasoning behind the action selected?
Lately I had this situation and I cbet about 40% pot and everybody folded and that made me question my play. I cbet at a high frequency, so maybe I was on auto-pilot, but on such a dry flop (barring the possible flush draw), I now think that there is merit to check that flop often.
What do you think?

Should be able to get a call from worse Ks, I'd have thought?
So that's 12 combos of worse Ks if you go down to KT, maybe 3-5 flush draws, and maybe even JJ-99 which you beat. Whereas there's only 3 combos of 88 which you're behind.
You probably wouldn't get too much from letting them catch up later anyway, unless they hit their full house or flush.
I think it's a decent C-bet (and a large one at that, larger than 40%) especially if your default is to c-bet quite a lot. But I'm quite new here, just a heads up

I agree cbeting here reps a wide range of hands pocketpair/flush draws/kings you will often get called by worse, all pocketpairs villain has basicly have to call the flop.
