98s against utg rock

What do you think of the flop and turn play? I think with overcards and overpairs will call it too difficult for him and I get him down on the turn. Would you play AK the same way?

I would fold preflop unless our call will get sb and bb in the hand. OTF-I fold normally, but if you have a read the villain will fold OTF then you could try to raise. I don't think trip queens would raise this flop. I would prefer to flat the flop and raise/ bet the turn.

Flop raise is bad. Turn sizing is bad. Jam river.

Re: 98s against utg rock

If you want him to fold w/e he's got, start by betting bigger on the turn. As for the flop itself, these are flops I often see people ''attacking'' me on, repping Qx or bollocks like that, when they actually wouldn't play Qx like this if they had it. I''m not folding AK vs your flopraise is my point, not always at least. Turn obviously always calling given the price you give me. And yeah river is gin.

Not too sure about pre, guess we can fold vs a nit, but there are also merits in playing sc in position.

Pre I don't mind if you feel he will pay you off when you hit... But I would float this flop

Re: 98s against utg rock

First of all, I fold preflop. I don't mind the bet sizing, but if you put him on KK, which is likely considering his rock status, you probably need to fire again on the river maybe 2/3 pot.

Re: 98s against utg rock

Like others said, your turn bet is too small and not convincing at all. Even nits will call AA/KK at least one street. If you want to barrel, you will have to go all the way, doing a half assed job is bad.

he prob not even opening all his PP

so if you hit 9x your never getting value from 22 33 44 55 66 cause its not in his range

and even if board comes down Qxx they dont have enough combos of air for you to float profitably

hes prob opening like 6% UTG

i get that he rarely ever has our flush dominated but dont see where money comes from :S

EDIT saw stacks am now aware

Can you give me the name of UTG so I can have a really good note on this calling station?

Re: 98s against utg rock

pre is marginal, with fishy blinds I like it, or with good reads on OR.
fold otf, we have 9 high on a rainbow flop and only a bdfd vs. a nit, u rep too thin and ur equity when called sucks so bad.
