Villain seemed to be a LAG - VPIP of low/mid 30s over 100+ hands.
Here was my thinking roughly (please tell me how bad it was, you won't hurt my feelings) on a few streets:
1) Deep stacked (150bb effective) I think this is a decent, if a bit loose, call pre flop.
2) On the flop we have a gutshot and backdoor FD, call may be a little loose, but we are also rather deep and I think this call is OK - especially given he has a VPIP of 33% and is going to cbet this type of board texture a lot.
3) Turn - we pick up the FD too - my thought here is just raise and end it (hopefully) - essentially a semi-bluff - was my raise sizing too small? I think he is capable of double barreling alot and there is a good chance this pressure ends the hand.
4) We brick the river - I am thinking I need to check/fold this maybe 2/3 of time and bluff 1/3 of time, I decided this was a time to hold my nose and bluff it. In hindsight, I don't think my bluff really tells a convincing story other than maybe trying to represent mid set or something. Maybe I should have bluffed all-in and not left anything behind, but once he calls that turn check-raise, I think we are in hot water.
I didn't do a good job putting Villain on a range here - I am not sure what he calls my turn re-raise with. Maybe two pair or a set? Maybe its super obvious I'm on a semi-bluff and he's just making the call with a K or Q here. He's PFR 33% here so big range, I think that is a super common board to cbet and that texture is good for a CBET so that's part of the reason I called flop. What does he double barrel here then make the call with??
Anyway - any advice on how you would play this, or how I could have played it better, or thoughts on how I could put villain on a better range would be super helpful.
Thanks
