4NL- Top set in multiway pot facing big raise behind, wet flop

So here is another hand kinda similar to the other one I posted earlier today. This one happened yesterday.

UTG= 18/13/4 over 1300+ hands
Button= 22/8/3 over 600+ hands

Merge - $0.04 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

Hero (CO): $4.12
BTN: $6.80
SB: $2.83
BB: $11.98
UTG: $8.32
UTG+1: $2.50
MP: $4.33
MP+1: $4.04

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.04

Pre Flop: ($0.06) Hero has T T

UTG raises to $0.12, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.12, BTN calls $0.12, SB calls $0.10, BB calls $0.08

Flop: ($0.60, 5 players) 8 T 9
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $0.40, BTN raises to $1.80, fold, fold, fold, Hero ?

We gotta fold here since we're not getting odds to draw to the boat right?

shoving is good, he may also have some combo draws, which you also got crippled with your Tc and boat draw.

if he has a complete straight in the same time you floped top set, so be it, you still have some outs.

Re: 4NL- Top set in multiway pot facing big raise behind, wet flop

Never fold top set on the flop.

There are possibly some circumstances on a scary board, against a really deep stacked villain where it might be correct to fold middle set if the flush, straight and top set are all possible holdings for him, but top set just beats so much stuff that even the nittiest of villains will stack off with, that you can just get the money in, and if you're beat, it's just an incredible cooler.

You normally have about 33% equity if you're behind to a flopped straight or flush, so it's not like you're drawing dead if you are behind. Only a flopped straight flush will see to that.

Bet full pot on the flop and just shove over his raise. Not trying to be a smart*ss but how is this not obvious to someone with 4,000+ posts?
