I usually don't take advantage of thin value but this seemed like a cool spot to do so. I think there is a ton of equity that regs miss out on from not betting weak hands in weird spots when they know they're good. here's my example.

folds to hero otb with JJ raises 4BB

SB folds and BB calls

pot:8.5BB
flop: 1033

villain checks
hero bets 6BB and Villain calls

Pot: 20.5BB
turn: K

Villain checks and Hero checks

Pot:20.5BB
river: 9

Villain checks
Hero bets 15BB
Villain calls and mucks

we absolutely know our hand is good here and it makes no sense for us to be betting the river. a thinking player is probably even calling here with A high as well as any 10 and lower pocket pair.

T2-JT would be a thin vbet, anything that beats a Tx chop (QT) isnt exactly a thin vbet

I question more why you didn't fire three streets.

A thinking player folds A-high here because nobody bluffs like that. It's almost always 10x or a hand like you had that didn't think it could get 3 streets of value.

a thinking player would raise your river bet knowing you are going for thin value and hence are gonna fold to a raise

and a thinking player would snap it off because it's a bluff so often. what hands can c/r river there? It's like 99 or nothing. Maybe TT if you don't 3b that pre.

haha good point. it really depends on what level each player is thinking on though. like most micro players don't bluff raise rivers and so without a read i would give villain a very strong range even though it's hard to rep much on this board just due to the population tendencies of raising rivers with the nuts, as opposed to thinking "oh villain must know i don't have much since i checked the turn so he might be making a move". I think you gotta give baluga theorem credit in these spots or sometimes you end up spewing and looking like a fool
