I am really not sure about this hand or what line I could've taken here (except for a fold pre) but after the call the hand ran at high speed and I did not know if I should be folding top pair here against unknown

You got stuck. I don't see how you can fold anywhere but I hate getting 100bb in there. His betting is pretty strong to be an under-pair; most villains would shut down after you call the flop bet. Could his range be exactly AK?

Yea his range was exactly AK! At start I was thinking it might also be steal from BB but his betting was strong so an Ace for sure. Deep down I knew there is a good chance Im up against AK but could I fold?

This is likely a fold pre. Hate the turn jam; What worse is calling?

This is it really, what at that point do you think calls that's worse? V's unknown and at that level the a typical player type is passive without much scope to bluff. I can see hands in his flop c bet range that you beat, a lot of those hands against a typical nl2er on 888 shut down after your call.

So the turn bet becomes polarised to bluffs and value and we have to assume it's weighted towards value unless we have info indicating otherwise, by shoving you isolate yourself against the value hands which is unlikely to be worse than aq unless you have info he'll stack off with a flush draw on the turn? Or if you think he see's kk or ax type hands as high value?

I would of folded on the flop and 4 bet/fold pre.

Agreed! This hand was definitely on the bender. I think it was the 3b and the realization that I was up against AK. Either way I was not sure at that moment if I would've folded without a showdown hence the rookie attempt of representing a set...

And yes I know it's 2nl sadly...
