No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (8 handed)

MP2 ($10.15)
Hero (CO) ($15.26)
Button ($10.46)
SB ($10.05)
BB ($13.72)
UTG ($7.11)
UTG+1 ($10)
MP1 ($7.17)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 6, 6
3 folds, MP2 raises $0.30, Hero calls $0.30, 3 folds

Flop: ($0.75) 4, 6, 2 (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero bets $0.37, MP2 calls $0.37

Turn: ($1.49) 9 (2 players)
MP2 bets $0.10, Hero raises $0.94, MP2 calls $0.84

River: ($3.37) 7 (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero bets $1.68, MP2 raises $8.54 (All-In), Hero folds

Total pot: $6.73

Villain is 19/14 over 22 hands. Gut feel, fishy, loose and sticky on board.

I'm pretty bad at spots like these, generally I wouldn't have bet on the river at all, but I had misread the board and not seen the river flush. Thought I can get some value out of top pair or two pairs since villain called down with worse previously.

As played, I think here's an obvious fold, with hero losing to 35, T8 and any flush. Given that villain throw out a blocker bet on the turn, I think a river is most likely to be the case.

What do you guys think? Should I had went for C-C river, or a river bet is okay in this case? As played, fold is correct?

Personally I'd bet more on flop and turn. The river bet is fine imo.

You mention 35 and T8 but I'd be very surprised if villain turns up with those often here. T8 is about the only combo of T8 and 35 I'd expect him to have.

As played, it sucks but it's probably a good fold.

I'm thinking river bet here might be a leak. Looking back now I don't think I would get called by anything worse than my hand and if villain is trying to be tricky, he can turn his hand into a bluff here as well.

What do you think his calling range would be on this board?

I'd be betting nearer to 80% of Pot or higher on both streets. As played fold to river check/shove.

Given the low board there are plenty of Ax and Broadway flush draws in his range here and his play so far post-flop has been consistent with someone on a drawing hand.

I'd discount the 2 straights just because those hands are less likely to be in villain's opening range (we have a very small sample but so far they're shaping up not to be the sort of person who opens T8 or 35 from MP) .

Well you say V could be fishy, loose and sticky... if so V's calling range could be wide enough for a b/f line, fish are fish. But the blocker bet and river completing plenty of draw is a red flag. It's unfortunate you miss read the board but the folds absolutely correct.

I'd bet bigger on the flop V's likely to be pretty inelastic with anything he's likely to call, and once the bet comes in on the turn im close to potting it.

I mean with the board not having any scare cards there are players that will play AK to the river and TT+. I think betting the river is fine. But I like the fold to reraise.

Looks like a good fold on the river.
