I guess this hand is just a cooler? We are always getting it in with the ace on the flop since there is now only the one combo of AA in his range that beats us? So probably no point in checking flop or turn since we are calling any bet anyway.

Thought he might be more likely to 5-bet shove pre over the min 4-bet with aces, and would have folded there versus this villain, but when he flats he can have lots of JJ+ and AK, so I feel we are committed on the flop.

Less than 10 minute later on same table, this hand versus same villain.

Is this a standard bluff versus villain? I put his range at mostly TT+, AK, AQ.

Would expect him to bet the turn for value with aces at least, and he likely can't call river without an ace. He might even fold AQ. Is it too spewy to bet here and fold if he shoves?

1st hand:
why are you 4 betting, there is no point vs a tight 3bet range and use bigger size like 22bb or something
Check call flop, check fold turn, check call river depending on sizing. It's not a great idea to bet AK here for either of you because you only get called by chop or worse vs this guy. It's not a great situation for you to be in but you can make the most of it by finding out how badly this tag wants money in the pot, most will probably pot control here, maybe fire 1 bet.

2nd
12 combos of qq-kk fold, 15 combos of ak/aa call, bluff works just under 45% in relevant cases and its great spot to bluff so yeah you make money with that sizing. He does not have AQ here imo.

1st hand is a cooler but you shouldn't be betting the turn. You're betting the turn with basically the worst hand you can have there. It makes all his weak hands fold and does not allow him to bluff.

On your second hand, you're not bluffing him off of AK AQ btw. Most people are calling that. Your bluff doesn't have to be mandatory either. JJ has a lot of showdown value and you can safely check back as well. If you really think he is that tight with only TT+ and AQ+ , then yeah you should bluff here.

Whilst the second hand with the bluff was very creative and will work often be careful what you are repping. Your line of calling a 3 bet, calling a flop bet and checking the turn then jamming the river looks odd. If you just had an ace why did you call the flop bet? A4, A6, A8 would be odd hands to call a 3 bet or if you had a set why check the turn?

Having said that most opponents will just see the overcard and fold without thinking.

Not sure why you are betting the turn, not much worse calls though any hand with ace of spades likely will. Checking this allows villain to bluff at the pot.

1) consider a fold pre, 2xx hands nothing to say. 4bet fold ok
as played depends your startegy because its a cooler, 1/3 flop 50% stack on turn...
or c/c flop, donk turn if checked bet turn for value, ship most rivers of the times.
bet flop 2/3 is just so bad vs this guy with this hand on that dry board (vs this opponent)

2) river is a check fold or a c/ship, push, jam , shove 150bb deep. I can't find a hand villain folds on that runout to a river donk bet.
worked out but still.....
