As the title asks. I wasn't sure where the post really goes. There isn't really anything resembling a law forum. It's actually more of a loan to gamble with if the law makes a distinction between the two.

Generally speaking, if it's a personal loan you made to an individual and then they gambled and lost it all, yes this debt is legally enforceable in Canada.

obv palmtree is a lawyer so would no more.... but I dont understand how a personal loan with no paperwork is possibly enforceable? Esp. if it was given in cash.

Also if the money was loaned for the purposes of gambling then I dont see how you could collect. Except if there was signed docs between you clarifying lending arrangement.
