The United States Parachute Association (USPA) requires in the Skydivers Information Manual that any jumper flying a wingsuit for the first time have a minimum of 200 freefall skydives, made within the past 18 months, and receive one-on-one instruction from an experienced wing suit jumper, or 500 jumps experience to go without an instructor.
Skydiving is expensive, 200 jumps * $200 =$40,000. Anyone know if they offer discounts to regulars? Like a "season pass" kinda dealio?
You can get your license by going to "skydiving school" doing which is usually a 10 jump+ program plus classes from your local skydiving place. These cost anywhere from $2,000-3,000. I'm not a skydiver but I researched it in the past because I was really into it after doing a jump in New Zealand.
After you have your license and have jumped solo, you can do jumps for like $20 bucks. That is, if you have your own equipment. Parachutes aren't cheap and neither is the rest of the gear but you can rent that stuff at the drop sites.
