That being said the monitor is suppose to maintain order and ensure the safety of the students in case of an emergency among other responsibilities. her only power in maintaining order is to report their actions to the school, who in turn reports it to their parents (or suspend them, but dont know if that would be grounds for suspension or not?). If that sequence had any real consequences for these kids they probably wouldnt behave like that in the first place.
They interviewed one of the parents and it was the usual "omg my kid is normally so well behaved" bull**** you always hear from crappy parents.
And fwiw being able to shake off insults about being fat/ sweating, etc is one thing, being able to sit there, without showing emotion, as someone berates you because your son committed suicide is, i imagine, significantly more difficult.
