So I just googled this and found out that this is pretty common. It's the naval orange worm that apparently likes to make its home inside various nuts, pistachios included.

Well I guess what I meant was I'm not going to buy anymore of those bagged snacks with shelled nuts in them. Just the thought of cracking open one of those and the worn hiding inside grosses me out.

yeah, I got a live one too inside a chestnut I bought at the groceries, was gross but the pistachios' the worst, managed to find two of them in the same bag once.
