I hope it eventually gets hard. I played through the first few levels and got bored. I'm about to give it another go.

I'm stuck at lvl 29 right now, at two different levels. I was about two hundred HP from beating one of them though.

I wound up playing this for like 5 hours today

I had a sword that took up the whole screen but I -still- couldn't even come close to beating the final boss. Ugh.

Yeah it definitely gets hard and I wasn't able to use my "combo as high as I can and only use the preset towers" strategy for very long. lol

You probably dont build your mana pool high enough. Allocate points to 'lower mana cost for gem creating', 'more initial mana', '# of medium starting gems', maybe 'mana gain per kill'. Make sure you pump your mana to well over 4k so you can buy the round gems, possibly make the cockroach run a few laps.

I'm only level 17 and don't have "lower mana cost for gem creating" or "# of medium starting gems". I've beaten all the prior levels to the highest extent that I can. How can I keep leveling up?

You have probably missed some of the easier ways of getting bonuses after each level, such as constructing at least 3 towers per level or creating at least 25 or 50 gems, throwing 30+ gem bombs etc (near the end of a level 'create gem' and use controlkey+lowest gem, then 'combine gem'+lowest gem)

Right from the start of the game I manage to perform better than the 'glowing frame' scores on most levels.
