This one's OK. But I still spend time doing this other puzzle from the same folks after seeing it posted here about six months ago.

Feudalism

Halfway tactics-style rpg. Start with a small group and build up to a huge army. Lots of weapons, armor, unit types. Pretty impressive for a flash game, though there's really no ending to the game.

Why doesn't it tell you when you solved the puzzle?

Ya, click ready. As you are going you can click ready too and it'll tell you if there are mistakes while you are in progress. I also remember playing it for awhile before discovering the right-click x's that help keep things straight for you.

Ah ok got it. The 5x5 are pretty easy. 10x10 aren't much harder, IMO. I'll have to give the 20x20 a shot.

Just did my first 15x15 and it took me 24 minutes. My head hurts.

(I'd spent a few days doing the 10x10s and they were breezy, easy fun. My top time in that one was 2:21).

I'm hoping to crack 10 minutes one of these days for 15x15. I'm sure 5 is doable. But the first one had me really out of sorts... without using x's as markers I'd have been screwed.

I think I got my time for 15x15s under 8 minutes consistently. Now that I'm back on my laptop, my times might be a little slower, but I'm still doing them quickly. 25x25s piss me off because whenever I would get like 1/3 of the way done and 30 minutes in, I'd click "ready" to check and it'd tell me I have errors.

edit: Still got it under 8 on my laptop.

Re: Official Flash Game Thread

I used to do Nonograms (I remember them called "Picross") a lot as a kid. Got 3:36.00 first try on a 15x15, I can probably get 2:00 or faster if I played them more. Most of the sites I've seen these puzzles on have solutions that actually look like things though, not random bricks.

After having done them for awhile now, I just do the 25x25's. The smaller ones are just too "easy"...I think I've done one of the 25's in the 16 minute range. I usually leisurely do them in around 20 minutes. But, i don't really race hard to do them so I don't know what kinda time I could get on those.

I hadn't done a 15x15 in a long time and thought I'd do one on a lark and see what kinda time I would get:

And PJ, if they're taking 24 minutes you *might* be missing out on some of the basic tricks of doing these? For example in the above puzzle, I started with the bottom three lines (10, 10/2, 3/7) and filled in the parts of the 10's and the 7 that had to be black no matter what. Which gave me most of the bottom done right away and fanned out from there.
