watched this again last night on BBC2.

great show but pretty depressing, must be really draining to work in that kind of environment.

Yes, it is a quite depressing view of the world of casinos/gambling.

I hate the smiling casino reps, always trying to pretend they are "friends" with their fish.

Yup few yrs old but great Docu by Louis as standard. The guy who wouldn't stop playing BJ with his mate singing 'know when to hold'em' was funny/scary and the old biddy at the end was real scary. The guy arranging comps for the high rollers was interesting if annoying at times.

Good to watch but I think the prison one is his best.

I assume he is fearless, because he took a non-sex part in a gay porn.

The wrestling one is one of my favourites

I have seen a couple of his films and this was quite disappointing compared to westboro, prisons and Philly crime.

Louis does great stuff, I think i've only seen one or two that I thought was a bit weak. I've seen the gambling one a few times, it's pretty depressing stuff. It would have been pretty interesting to see how the blackjack addict ended up and if he still had the house at the end of it.

The elderly lady was a very depressing case too, she obviously just has an empty void in her life and nothing to fill it and the son seemed like a walkover - he should have moved her away from Vegas and locked her up till she recovered. She'll probably end up dying at a slot machine, I got the impression she'd never been in her yard. When louis pointed out he could see the Hilton from her yard, she didn't seem sure herself. Casino employees are scum bags, I don't really see how they do the job day after day with no remorse as some of these people were clearly not mentally there.

Allan the whale, some how I don't believe that he's that successful to dump off $300k in Vegas every few months and still look at it as peanuts over the year doing it every year. The casino was really tight about how much credit to give the guy to spend. He probably blows millions a year in the casino and they give him the biggest suite, but don't want to give him $5k to go shopping with, wtf?!? We all know Vegas wasn't built on winners, but it's still damn depressing viewing watching the seriously addicted losing rather than the recreationals dumping off a few hundred on a weekend once a year. I just don't get how average people end up dropping $20k when they really can't afford it.

I ****ing hate that douche. He befriends the (maybe stupid or not experienced with TV work, in anycase, easily tricked) subjects to their faces and makes them feel secure and that he is "on their side". At the same time he stabs them on their backs, planning his questions and the whole show so that the subjects will sound dumb / evil / laughable / whatever negative to the viewers, especially when the show is cut. The whole show is worst kind of social porn, trying to sound all serious and caring and concerned about OMG some serious issues when the whole thing is really all about TV watchers peeping on the people who have problems, for entertainment. And ****ing over the top preachy stuff like theroux going "OMG how can u clean the bodies of people who have committed suicide...how can u live with yourself u evil person!" or "OMG so you are a porn actor but you should only have sex when you love the person!?!". Wake up clown someone needs to clean up the blood from the bathroom it won't clean itself up, stop being such a ****ing child.

^ Louis pretty much always gives a balanced view on things. I'm guessing you haven't watched many of them.

louis theorux is the nuts. recommend watching the survivalists episode too.

Louis' skill is to be on the same level as the people he's interviewing to make them feel comfortable, then asking the killer questions in a very clumsy un-intimidating way that gets his subjects to give him great material. That's top class journalism.

Fearless, surely would be actually be taking it (it being the main role)? lol.
