There's a crappy-but-highly-regarded movie from the '70s called Star Wars, where a bunch of no-talent actors (plus a young Harrison Ford, slumming it) are badly directed by a stiff sci-fi nerd telling a hollow, unoriginal story about good and evil. The story (in the YouTube video) is not true, but the details of it are intentionally obscured to prevent you from realizing it's from the movie. But once the reveal is made that the story is told from the lead character's point of view (lol Mark Hamill), you can go back and realize everything else is fairly accurate to the story points of the rest of the movie.
So no, it's not true (the movie takes place in the past, and in space -- on a distant planet where everyone happens to speak English, so there's no way it can be true), and even though most of the plot was adapted from a Kurosawa movie from the '50s called The Hidden Fortress, Kurosawa didn't have the subplot about the guy and the hot sister. Because he knows how to make a good movie, whereas the guy who made Star Wars (his name is George Lucas, and you probably haven't heard of him because he never did anything else that was any good, even American Graffiti) is a moron.
