Re: 70-Minute Star Wars Episode 1 review

Dude must live in/around Wisconsin. He's got bottles of Spotted Cow on his desk which is only sold around there I think. It's delicious and I asked a local place if they could ship to the Philly area but they don't.

From the very first link:

Some guy named Mike from Milwaukee, WI put together a 70-minute video review discussing the many reasons why the movie was horrible.
Thanks for the bump....missed this entire thread the first (and second time) around.

The core ideas of these reviews are really well thought out and executed. This would be alot better if it was presented by a normal person (like angry nintendo nerd), rather than that of an inbred who sounds retarded. And the horror scenes are stupid and pointless.

Very true. I get the feeling the guy did it for a laugh one time then his videos blew up and now he's kinda stuck with it.

Also does George Lucas ever do those charity auctions spend time with a famous person for cash things? It'd be awesome if some baller bought time with him just to sit him down and watch through these vids with him.

Re: 70-Minute Star Wars Episode 1 review

I don't mind the creepy guy persona to rant, but every time he cuts away from the actual Star Wars footage and starts talking about his life and showing his apartment, I always groan and wonder why he thinks we care about this creepy character so much. We don't.

Highlight was the first part when he's ranting about the opening sequence in which Lucas tries to make the plot complicated enough so that the audience won't bother to notice that the characters' motivation don't make any sense. A lot of writers pull this **** (I'm looking in your direction Christopher Nolan), but in these prequels, it is totally out of control.

Overall, maybe not quite as funny as his rant on episodes I and II, but definitely worth watching. Solid work.

Agree with many of the sentiments here. His reviews are genius, and well-produced, but i don't enjoy the murder/basement scenes, just don't care at all about them and am mildly disturbed. But I wish there were more critical movie reviews like this with superb editing and production

Love all these reviews.

Agreed with everybody in that I don't like the extended cut-away creepy-dude stuff. I do, however, love the general creepy-guy persona and the quick 1 or 2 second creepy stuff flashes he occasionally intersperses.

Nooo his flashes are well done and pretty funny. You can tell he took his time with the set and a lot of funny stuff in them. Sexy with his cat makes me lol everytime.

Re: 70-Minute Star Wars Episode 1 review

ok since everyone is giving their review of the reviews: I didn't like the cat sex scene or when he comes right out and says he's a murderer, and finally the airline ad. I think it's funniest when he just implies subtly and jokes about being a weird sex creep murderer. The cat scene was uncomfortable. Overall his reviews are awesome and I will watch them multiple times.

Part 3 of the 3rd review was what he should stick to imo. The sections dissecting, shot by shot, exactly how lazy Lucas had gotten and why Lucas sucked at writing a character driven story were fantastic.

lol @ the kids watching vaders face melt off

and lol @ how mind-numbingly boring the "A-cam, B-cam" style of shooting is. He did a good job of highlighting how terrible that was.

surprised he didnt dwell more on "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"

I just finished watching Avatar and watched his review right after.
He is spot on with that one and mentions everything I thought was "meh" about the movie.
