The shady grove puzzles are a pain in the ass. The gimmicks to the puzzles there are fairly easy to figure out and obvious, but the solving part on some of the later ones is obnoxious

Minor spoiler on a helpful tool for some of them
Spoiler:
170 puzzles in and this is the first time I had to use a paint program to manipulate screenshots together

I didn't find these too terrible (assuming I'm thinking of the same ones), but there was one particular panel towards the end of that sequence that I ended up just brute forcing and I still don't really get the logic, despite figuring out every other puzzle (including the ones after it) just fine.

You might be thinking of the tree branch area near the beginning, otherwise pretty impressive if you're able to mentally combine some of those clues.

Now I'm stuck on the audio puzzles with the pitch changes and it's killing me, helps if you have good pitch which I don't.

Spoiler:
I'm talking about the area with the paths mapped out from the shadows along the sides of things near the actual panel. It ends with opening up the rightmost door of the little shack in the orange forest. I think the fourth-last one is the one where I just still don't see exactly what it was trying to show me.

Sigh, the latest patch makes it so I can't load the game. That will teach for for actually buying a game early. How do you see how many puzzles you have solved?

Chuck if you email support, its jon blow himself who replies, he helped me within 5 min when I sent him my save game.

The load game screen tells you how many puzzles you solved.

And yeah, I've made extensive use of mspaint for some puzzles, huge bonus for PC over PS4 I would imagine.

Played a few more hours tonight, as I knock off the easier puzzles the game feels like it's getting exponentially harder. Super stuck in treetops area (don't click if you haven't been through most/all of this area):

Spoiler:
Did basically every puzzle I can find, leaving only...

Spoiler:
This ****ing door on a ****ing timer

Spoiler:
Spent like 30-45 minutes trying to figure out how I'm supposed to get there in time, finally thought I figured it out when I realized you could bring that orange plate pathway by the bridge over towards the door timer

Spoiler:
Came up with the perfect plan, I hit the timer, go back to the platform, quickly rearrange the last 3 plates to go straight ahead to take me to the door before time runs out

Spoiler:
THE ORANGE PATH FALLS JUST ****ING SHORT OF GETTING ME TO THE DOOR, FU JONATHAN BLOW U R SUCH A TROLL

About the "house" that you see right when you exit the starting area.

Spoiler:
I opened the door and there some kind of diagram in the box. Am I supposed to be able to figure it out right away or should I leave it for now ? I'm not really far in the game.

Thanks for keeping some of the posts with spoilers in them boys, much appreciated. I plan on grinding this weekend since I didn't get to play last night. Hopefully my brain is ready for the tests.

I haven't played enough to test this but curious on if any of you are experiencing this.

I did on my first day for a little bit about 2 hours in, took a break for awhile and felt a little better, I think I got used to whatever it was that caused it.

Haha, I just did it this morning as well.

Spoiler:
Took me forever to get the alternate solution to get the bridge on the other side of this to go right, I was raging

Same area:

Spoiler:
One of the things that's made me feel stupidest in this game so far is when doing some of the switch-able puzzles in that area and I completely forget how to solve them to make it point in a different direction...after I've already solved it (even after I've already made it go in that direction before)

After my first hour or so I started to feel a bit off, when I came back and put a few more hours in I started getting noticeably queasy, a bit like car sickness where you feel a little clammy and lightheaded/nauseous. I tried just walking instead of sprinting and putting a little sticker in the middle of my screen, both things have eliminated it unless I just got used to the game.

I hate everything about the swamp, especially the variation on the initial mechanic in the yellow portion.

I'd have to go back to see what you're talking about but I like the tetris piece puzzles a lot generally.

When combined with other mechanics they can get pretty devilish.

Small spoiler you can probably click on if you've completed a lot of areas and been to the top of the mountain:

Spoiler:
HOLY CRAP THAT PUZZLE TO GET INSIDE IS HARD. Kept me up until like 3am last night and I had to be up early today. Felt good to finally get it.

22 hours, 360+40 puzzles, most areas done but still a lot of content remaining. I think I've done all tutorials so no mechanics should be new to me at this point, but there are still a couple puzzles I've seen that are like wtfbbq I don't feel like I know how to do this.

Been playing 1.5 hrs

Spoiler:
I got up to tracing rocks against the sky and water until the boomerang shaped one stumped me. I have since been exploring and running around and starting different "zones" until something seems like a mechanic I haven't learned yet, am I doing it wrong?

Also feeling kinda sick from running around a bunch just now
The witness. Quote

I think you basically just summed up everyone's first 1.5 hours, including the last part

Spoiler:
- yeah, if you hit a mechanic you feel like you haven't learned then you can generally put it off until you find the place where you're supposed to learn about it
- motion sickness seems to be common but I took a break when it first hit and it hasn't come back for me since, weevil said he hasn't gotten any since early on too
