Re: Wii Virtual Console updates

Only 2 games for the first time in a long time. If I ever get anywhere closed to completing my backlog queue, I may look into Kirby 3, since I enjoyed the first one on the NES a ton.

Jan. 5, 2009

WiiWare

Sandy Beach (Konami, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone—Comic Mischief, 500 Wii Points): Enjoy a fun day at Sandy Beach as you build elaborate sand castles. You can work peacefully on your sand castle or enter into a battle with invading crabs in Crab Battle mode. Players will strategically build their sand castle and use cannons to defend it against an army of destructive crabs. After successfully defending your sand castle, discover beach treasures and additional cannons with your metal detector to customize your castle even more.

Virtual Console

Kirby's Dream Land 3 (Super NES™, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): Kirby, Dream Land's resident hero (and everyone's favorite puffball), must once again save the day when the mischievous King Dedede starts causing trouble. Kirby must travel through an assortment of levels, battling an exotic array of enemies (both new and familiar) determined to stop him from completing his mission. Always armed with his trusty ability to swallow enemies and gain special attacks, Kirby can also unite with some of his animal friends and make use of their particular talents. Featuring detailed graphics, challenging boss battles and the distinct charm of a Kirby game, it's no wonder this title is considered a classic.

At this point I would prefer they release NO games for the VC for like a week or two and then release 3 ****ty games all at once. I mean, you'd get the same amount of ****ty games, but it wouldn't feel so insulting, like they were literally putting in the least amount of effort possible.

"Oh God, it's almost been a week, we'd better port the first piece of **** we find laying on the floor. Why must we spend all week doing cheap Japanese designer drugs and giving eachother tug jobs to tween hentai porn?"

That copy of Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen you stashed under the mattress to partly fund your early retirement just got a whole lot less valuable. The ESRB has rated the rare Enix RPG for a Virtual Console release, along with another, more widely known SNES gem: Super Punch-Out!!.

I wonder where that Quaterman rumor came from then. He seemed certain.

Re: Wii Virtual Console updates

I don't have any problem paying $8 for a quality game. If I can put in a good amount of hours and be entertained by something, they've earned the money. Super Metroid, Super Mario RPG, SMB3 are all completely worth the combined $21 that I paid for them. The hours of entertainment that I got from those games (I still haven't beaten Super Metroid) VASTLY outweighs the $30 I spent on Beautiful Katamari...

My problem is with being asked to pay $60 for something that has really shiny graphics but no more meat to it than an SNES game. And if you play games on the PC, you can look at porn and get malware on your computer for free; don't bother paying the money for a game with DRM.

Fantastic game, IMO. Haven't played it in a bajillion years.

I went through every level in the game and created a code for every character: solo, +hunchback, +wizard, +Alucard.

I intended to send it to Nintendo Power but never bothered and eventually lost it. I could have been a contender

Somebody told me Super Castlevania was good, so I bought it. I thought it sucked compared to Castlevania III.
