considering getting the wind waker bundle, but i just can't see enough value here yet. only current games i'm the least bit interested in are wind waker and new mario/luigi u. then there's mario 3d land and donkey kong tropical freeze in a couple months. next zelda wii u game won't be until 2015. not interested in smash bros, will probably get whatever the next mario kart is.

almost every other good-review wii u game i've already played on 360 (rayman, batman, mass effect, darksiders, etc). i don't play madden/sports games, and i have no idea what pikmin is.

i basically only see a few weeks' worth of games that i'd play over the next year+ at this point. is there something i'm missing?

I have the bundle reserved already. Comes out on my birthday actually. :-D Will be selling my other wii u then. I bought Luigi U as well. For 30 bucks it isn't bad. But I'm a complete Nintendo fanboy.

If Pikmin is anywhere near as good as the first two, it is something you want to play.

Huge upcoming Friday! Zelda for 3ds, Mario for Wii U and Mario Party for 3ds as well. I will be getting the first two, as I prefer my party-type games to be on a home console. Anyone else excited?

Really excited here. I didn't own a 3DS so I pre ordered the gold Zelda XL. LTTP is one of my favourite games of all time. I had to.

It's insane how fun Super Mario 3D World. Apart from GTA 5, I haven't been this excited for a game in years.

Right with you there. I preordered the Zelda 3ds xl bundle too. Have my Pikachu one on ebay now, lol. Looooong weekend of gaming ahead.

Oh I always buy whatever new versions come out. Just sell the old ones. I've bought so many different ds's already.

True. I've seen nothing but bad reviews on it. Was thinking of getting that for my "party wii u game," but Nintendoland will suffice.

I think things like that are just as likely to occur randomly as on purpose. If I was making a game, I could easily see myself designing something like that without meaning to. Especially since it is nice a symmetrical.

mario 3d world is the really great signature game that wii u was needing. i've enjoyed all of the "new super mario bros" games, never cared that they weren't exactly groundbreaking, but 3d world is a big step up like the galaxy games were for wii.

the wii u gamepad has yet to prove useful at all to me. i have a pro controller and just use that for everything so far (new mario/luigi, wind waker, and 3d world). there are some parts in 3d world that require gamepad interaction, basically gimmick stuff like blowing into the microphone, and i just found myself disappointed that i had to do some switching back and forth for stupid stuff like that. the gamepad just feels like an expensive accessory rather than the centerpiece of the next gen for nintendo, at least for the few games i've played so far.

 to everything. If only this was a launch game! Ugh... the wii u has no games and doesn't seem as innovative as originally planned/advertised. I'll always own everything/only Nintendo, but at this point with the wii u, I'm only looking for first party releases. Few and far between... Most of my four days off consisted of drinking, football and the latest Mario/Zelda releases.

When this thread gets bumped every couple months my first reaction is "Oh yeah forgot that console existed."

Anyone know why the Wii was so massively successful followed by the Wii U failboating so hard? (or are people actually buying it? My reaction is similar to Quad's so I wouldn't even know)

Cuz the Wii went all zomg motion control!!! and everyone and their grandma (literally often) bought them because of how cool and innovative and fun the motion stuff was at first

Then the Wii name became sort of a joke because outside of Wii bowling there were few titles to garner attention and the lack of HD gave it a very limited life.

THEN the brilliant Nintendo execs decided to confusingly name their new console the Wii U - making most people think that it was just a gamepad accessory for the existing Wii. Their total lack of marketing (and what marketing they did put forth was confusing at best) did nothing to change that perception.

Combined with a very quiet launch that consisted of very few titles followed up with basically a huge drought of no games and there you have it. Damn you Nintendo

Wii sales to casual and non-gamers was ridiculous. Agree with blastoff about the pro controller/gamepad rant and 3D Mario being the ****.
