Just saw that Vigilante 8 is coming to XBLA!

I spent may hours during the winter hanging out at my friend's blowing the crap out of each other cars. I am really looking forward to this game, and online play

This could be interesting. Microsoft has apparently experienced greater than expected demand for the 360 leading to a reduced supply and are expecting worse sales numbers as such. This is coming out a day before the official sales numbers come out. Legitimate comments or preemptive damage control. The numbers tommorow could be pretty interesting!

Re: We should have a "random ****" thread in this forum imo

Is Vigilante similar to Interstate '76? Because I ****ing loved that game and just the other day was thinking "man, they should make a newer version of that."

Vehicular combat games are awesome and there aren't enough of them. Also reminds me of Deathtrack and MegaRace, two super old-school DOS games I played when I was a little kid that were ****loads of fun but you hardly see anymore (last one I can think of was Wipeout) - these are racing games (as opposed to open-world games with cars) with weapons on the cars. DeathTrack was by far the best on the weapon front - none of this "fly your little Wipeout racer thing over a missile icon and shoot the dude in front of you", you could fit your car with a machine gun or lay mines on the track. MINES ON THE ****ING TRACK!!!

Man, that got me nostalgic.

It's not fantastic, but I think it's worth the time.

Interstate 76 was the ****, used to be such an awesome game and my 12 year old self would get super frustrated trying to play online on a crappy 28.8 modem.

Also WTF with Red Alert 3, KOTOR 3, Mass Effect PC, etc. I'm not going to leave the house for like the next 2 years.

I don't know about you, but that would be my life with or without those games.

For some reason I never played Interstate '76. Not sure why, I remember the ads and reviews. So I looked up V-8 and it says that it was a spinoff from I-76.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vigilante_8

It also was like Twisted Metal, but imo way better. Different weapons you could pick up and each had 2 'specials' you could do with button combos. Also each vehicle had a special unique weapon that you could pick up.

I always liked the 'open world' concept of car fighting games, as opposed to ones that restrict you to a track. Just provides many more opportunities to f your buddy

Yea but Twisted Metal had the whole scary clown thing going for it, no? And in the first one wasn't it just a plain old scary ice cream truck crown, but then in the sequel there was that same guy but then like a REALLY dark and scary clown after that? Sweet Tooth and Dark Tooth or something.

Is it worth playing them for the clowns?

God, if people are sick of life and just want to end it all in a hail of gunfire then dudes like him are way better targets than random kids at their school.

And when I nail him in the head they'll obviously blame my excellent aim on all the practice I've had pistoling bitches with Last Stand.
