Frequently I have questions or want to talk about something that doesn't really warrant its own thread.

For example, once I finish Metroid Prime 3, the last game I got w/ my Wii that I've yet to play is Zelda. I've never played any Zelda games before. Would you guys recommend I play Ocarina on VC first? Or any other Zelda games?

I never played Ocarina, but I think Twilight Princess is the best Wii game out.

Someone recommend me a Wii game. Genre doesn't matter just anything good/interesting that I can pick up and play whenever. Basically something that won't require me to dedicate a ton of hours at a time to play it.

I would say the most enjoyable games that I've played thus far are Mario Galaxy, Rayman RR1 and GH3. I was considering Zelda/Metroid (and I'm sure they're both good games), but thought I might not get a lot of enjoyment from them unless I log a lot of hours of gameplay. Which isn't something I really feel like doing right now, just want something to play and relax.

Edit - Also want to add, thoughts on that new Endless Ocean game coming out?

get zack and wiki...u can play a level at a time, so anywhere from 10 mins to 30+ depending on how hard the level is

if u like point-and-click puzzlers at all, then u should get/rent this

Very few people here have even played it afaik. IIRC Ace lubby is the only person who has ever mentioned it.

It's ridiculously good. I mean, it's the best game on the ps3. And likely the best game out on next-gen consoles period.

I can't believe I avoided playing b/c I thought I hated 3rd person shooters or w/e genre it is.

random: anyone else a fan of Princess Tomato in the salad kingdom for NES? also random: sealed copy of FF1 worth anything?

Here's a couple different ones:

1) Mario and Sonic at the Olympics -- It's basically Konami's track and Field with the Mario and Sonic characters (plus your Miis) with about 20 or so events. I have not mastered everything and it's a fun party game because you can handicap players so noobs get a level playing field.

2) Medal of Honor Heroes 2 -- Enjoyable WW2 shooter (I use the Wii Zapper which is awesome and has Link's crossbow training another fun game) that you can play in either campaign mode or arcade mode. There is also online play as well.

3) Lego Star Wars -- If you like Star Wars this game is really fun. Lots of replay value and you can play any the 6 episodes in any order. Once you clear a level you can go back with any character you have unlocked. A lot of replayability.

On my second play-through right now on Hard. The only gripe is I wish it was about 15 hours long. It took me about 12, but I think another 3-4 hours would be great. The graphics are insane and the gameplay is fun with IMO a very good storyline.

I think you should play A Link to the Past before you play Twilight Princess. It's pretty much the best game ever, is a much shorter, and will familiarize you with many of the Zelda mechanics. Ocarina is not going to play as well after you play TP, but I'd be fairly hard pressed to ask you to play it first. It's an amazing game, but so much has been refined over the past 10 years that it does feel fairly dated and TP is basically a less challenging, much less original, but more refined version.

The new Zero Punctuation is out and I nearly fell over laughing.

O snap, Yahtzee? He designs amateur adventure games as you're probably aware. The "5 Days a Stranger" series is excellent (and free). It's 4 games - first one in present day, second one in space in 400 years, third one present day again, fourth one in space in 200 years. It's pretty cool.

just started playing metal gear 1 again. sooo good

I tried out the first one in the series (5 Days a Stranger), but it was too tough and I didn't want to read the walkthrough. Also, I had some trouble getting the main character to go down stairs. I'll give it another shot someday.

DAMN YOU!!! Now I'm gonna have to dig up my old copy somewhere... I think I'm gonna play through all of them again... How am I gonna get through my games if I'm rehashing these... damn it!

OMG I can't wait. Summer 2008 on ALL machines (360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, possibly the DS, PC). It looks so sick. I'm more excited for this game than any other released this year.

Im starting my first 'real' vid game. I used to just mess around with madden and games like that with friends. Since i bought The Orange Box pretty much all i want to do is play half life 2 episode 1. I also splurged on a new tv becuz my old one was like a 19" box from the 80s.

Getting stuck @ a spot i can't pass is soooo frustrating but its fun to finally figure it out. Needless to say im hooked. I will post again when i beat that one and move on 2 the next game in the box. You will prolly be seeing post noobish ?s ( apologies in advance) but i will try to keep them in this thread.
