Just bought a Wii off Craigslist last week. Any good suggestions for games that we can both play at the same time? So not taking turns or whatever. Non sports too as she hates that stuff.

i think super mario galaxy has a fantastic co-op mode.

Could my wireless adapter for the 360 be fried? When i unplug it and plug it back in, it flashes a red light which i never noticed before.

It seems like the problem has fixed itself somehow. Off to Halo 3 i go.

Perusing IGN today led me to ask this question: Is Sony really selling a pre-release version of Gran Turismo 5 for $40? Is there anything special about this or is it just a subset of what will be in the final game?

While I won't get it, I totally would have paid $40 for MGS Online and a demo a year ago, or a subset of COD6, Halo 4, or any other huge game that would benefit w/ releasing a subset as long as the regular game is worth the price tag.

It hasn't seemed to be so bad... they already have 1 Million preorders in Europe.

Today a guy came into the store to trade in a bunch of his old **** to upgrade to new ****.

2 consoles, some controllers/mem cards and about 120 games later he paid $7.05 for a 360 elite.
While processing it he told me that he was in the process of sending his other 360 back to microsoft for the 3rd time for the RROD (the 3rd time happened 1 hour after turning it on the day he got it back).


He traded in a N64 for a Low amount and I told him that I couldn't offer anything on the games/extra controller/mem card/whatever else he had.

He asked me if I had an N64 and I said I would by the end of the day, so he just gave the games and extras to me.
Also gave me some PS1 game I never heard off and FF7 as well.

As for the N64 games I got Conkers Bad Fur day, Golden Eye, Perfect Dark (I think that's the game off it) and Mario 64 plus some other crap that I didn't memorize.

Now if I can just find the kick ass rastlin game that was made for the system I'll be in Hog Heaven!!!!

also, before I stop typing. Perfect Dark as I recall, was a much better game than Golden Eye (made by the same people no?) but didn't seem to receiving as much attention.... at least not by my group of friends who only seemed to think that Golden Eye, Mario Kart and the Zeldas were the only games available to the system.

So I just logged on to the PSN store for the first time today and saw lots of PS1 games I never played, like Crash Bandicoot. Are these games still pretty playable today and worth getting if I never played the originals?

There are some that are definately playable etc. Why did you never own a PS1 out of interest? Literally not a single one of my friends who ever played games DIDN'T have a PS1 at some stage, the only one who didn;t was a diehard Nintendo fanboy geek who refused to get one, even now he refuses to get a PS3 or Xbox360.

Tomb Raider 1+2 were awesome at the time. They may not have aged well though but definitely worth checking out as it was definately premier PS1 material.

The Crash Bandicoots are fun but all too brief. Probably worth it though, think you can beat the 1st game in like 4 hours or something ridiculous.

FF7 I am sure you know about. Known as one of the best games ever.

Resident Evil 2 was ****ing AWESOME when I first played it check it out.

MGS is a ****ing all time classic if you never played it, its a must.

Tekken 3 if you like beat em ups. Its one of the best fighting games ever. Soul Blade might also be up your alley if you are a fan of the genre.

Most importantly for me, are Abe's Odyssey and Abe's Exodus. I absolutely loved these games to bits when I was younger. So well put together and fun. Basically they are puzzle/platformers but with huge doses of humour and creative storytelling. Also included some of the best art and design of any game ever imo. <3 abe!

Trying to think of others but a lot of the games I had and loved are probably just **** now, they won't have aged well. Like Gran Turismo, Ridge Racer, Time Crisis (with the gun! OMG!), GTA (top down scrolling this was such a ****ing awesome game), Micro Machines, Colin McCrae Rally, Wipeout, ISS etc. Racing games and sports game just aren't really fun playing them years later.

The ones Reefy and me have listed are all worth checking out though.

Playing around with the menus in Brawl, I found the part that times how long you've been playing the game. Over 3 hours of fighting time and 6 hours of on time (I assume most of that was when the game was on pause).

I'm not sure I like that feature. While it's cool to know how much you've been playing, it might be depressing if I found out how long I've been playing GH3.

Yeah but just remind yourself that HellAshes probably has played Solo E of Jordan for more time than you have spent playing the entire franchise total.

I'm at about 3.5 days of online COD4. That's since January, not counting single player. It saddens me a little.

Haha, I think you guys listed more games than are actually available in the PSN store. Are the Abe's Odyssey/Exodus games at all like Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath? Played that on Xbox and it was pretty cool.

I was in like middle school when the PS1 was popular so it's not like I was ballin at poker and could buy any system I wanted . My parents got me an N64 for X-mas back then which was the first new console I'd gotten since the NES. I still wasn't that much of a console gamer, as there are a lot of N64 games I should have played but never did, like Perfect Dark or Zelda: OOT. Didn't really become big on console games until I got an Xbox in college.

The one downside for a lot of those games is that I'm not sure I could "regress" to games whose sequels I'd already played - like, Morrowind is a ****ing amazing game, but after playing Oblivion and using fast travel it would be a lot harder to stomach having to run/fly/whatever to anywhere you want to go. So, I could see games like MGS/Resident Evil 2/what have you being annoying when I'm already used to playing those games on a more refined engine.

No, the other Oddworld games are nothing like Strangers Wrath (which I really want to replay sometime because it was pretty damn fun).

Nah MGS or Resident Evil aren't annoying going back to play them at all, they are still just as good as they were back then, if you can get past the graphics looking like **** compared to CoD 4 or something obviously.

I had no ****ing idea that more Oddworld games had been released guys so thanks! Apparantly there is Munch's Odyssey AND strangers wrath and I am going out today to buy them both lol. I loved the Abe games so much so I hope these ones are good too.

Just started Final Fantasy 12 a couple days ago. Wow, what a game.

Now that my PS2 and memory cards are in someone else's possession, I'm starting to get the urge to fire up this game again and beat it (never got really far last few times I've tried playing it).

What didn't you like the first couple times? Why do you think you will like it now?

It seems that I have to be in the mood for an RPG..... the first two times that I tried playing it I couldn't get into it because I wanted to be mashing buttons more.... so instead I turned towards an action RPG instead, like Kingdom Hearts.


However, recently I have been playing Dynasty Warriors (1st one, on NES) again and am enjoying it, so when I beat that I plan on jumping into FFXII.

That and Lost Odyssey should last me until GTA4 comes out.

Do any of you guys have a video game disease where you play a new game for like 8 hrs the day you get it then dont touch it afterwards for months?

My old roommate had something similar, but it didn't have to be a newgame. He would get into a video game, and play it like 16 hours a day, around the clock, until he beat it or was satisfied with it, and then he wouldn't play another video game for like 4-6 months. It was really strange. Here I was playing video games like 3-4 times a week, but only for 1 or two hours a day, and he plays all night a few times, then doesn't pick up a controller until the next season.
