New apt & TV and setting up all the stuff and apparently I cannot get the HDTV part of my 360 to work. Xbox is off, AV connector is set to HDTV, cables in correctly colored components (yellow left hanging). I turn input to the correct component on the TV, turn on xbox, get sound, but 0 video and the TV eventually asks for video input. When I power off and switch the 360 AV connector to TV and plug the red/white & yellow into their respective spots in the TVs lowdef input and turn the xbox on and TV to that input I get video/audio fine.
I've tried looking at the system menu for display (can only do when set to TV) it says the HDTV switch is off and it is on 480p (iirc). I cannot bump it up to 1080p, it just resets back to 480p. I wrote down the steps to get to get to the 1080p from the dashboard once the xbox is on and tried selecting it (with no video, going by audio, set to HDTV) and nothing happened (at least visually).
Is it possible to have the HDTV connectors (red, green, blue) be busted here? Am I missing something obvious? If it is busted, can I just pick up cables off of monoprice or someplace cheap? It would probably be best to go HDMI xbox->TV as the TV has several HDMI slots and only 2 spots for HD connectors.
Before the xbox was plugged into the regular lowdef input and occasionally swapped w/ the Wii as the other TV only had a few HD input options which were all taken by devices w/ higher usage than the xbox. Basically saying idk if the HD connectors from the xbox ever worked, but I certainly can't get them to work now.
Any help would be appreciated if anyone has any ideas, thanks!
edit:
I've used this guide to confirm I'm not a tard and don't think it's anything obvious otherwise
Hope terminology is clear enough, if any clarification is needed please ask.
