I trust the mods will forgive this cross-posted "spam" for a PokerStars event. As some of you know, before moving to Sydney to work with PokerStars, I used to live in an Australian town called Wangaratta, which is just near the recent bushfires that have destroyed a number of towns and killed hundreds of people.

PokerStars is running a tournament to raise funds for the victims of the bushfire - to help rebuild the towns and lives damaged by the fire. It is tournament #141744975 (Tourney tab -> Special -> 'Australian Bushfire Appeal'). It is going to run at 10.30pm, PokerStars Server time on Feb 21 (2.30pm Australian time, on Sunday).

The entry fee to the tournament includes a $10 donation, which PokerStars will match dollar for dollar. It'd be nice to see folks take part in this if you'd like.

Just got World of Goo for the PC. Really cool physics based puzzle game. Got it for ten bucks on an Amazon daily deal, but normally goes for twice that. A bargain either way. A relaxing type of puzzle game rather than one that gets you hyped up, with really good music and overall atmosphere that makes the game a pleasant place to stay for a few minutes or an hour or two.

You'd think that Rockstar would have figured out between releasing GTA IV and The Lost and the Damned that there are people in the world who do like music that lies between classic rock and hardcore punk/metal, but no, there is still nothing in the soundtrack that appeals to people like me even after adding 54 more songs. **** you, dip****s.

LMAO at Madden 08 (it was cheap and 09 seemed just as flawed) was playing against the CPU at All-Pro and stopping their drive within the redzone so they had to kick a FG (I was in front with 4 in second half) Obv roughing the kicker despite me not controling anything. Penalty plus 4 new shots for them. Same thing happened again after 3 downs and nothing, roughing the kicker, have another go, and wouldnt you have guessed, the same thing happend 3rd TIME IN A ROW untill they finally got it into the endzone.

Great work EA, hope 2010 doesnt suck as much.

How does Halo Wars not have a Covenant campaign?! How many RTS games only let you play as one of the two sides? Christ. And no, being able to play w/ them in Skirmish mode is not the same.

I mean, Halo 2 (or was it 3?) set the precedent of being able to play as the Covenant, and they could have done a really cool story-switching-sides type thing like in H3, or done it like Starcraft where each campaign begets that of the next race. Either way would probably have been way cooler than just having you play as the humans and introducing the Covenant as a playable race solely for skirmish/multiplayer.

Been a bunch of Playstation games on sale today on Amazon's "deal of the hour" type thingy. Probably will be at least one more. The tease line on the next one is sorta gangstery.

Anyone know a good PC GAMES ONLY REVIEWS blog or site? Perhaps a 'scene' PC GAME reviewer? I'm looking the quickest reviews post-release. Right now I use METACRITIC and they don't update often enough...

i just use IGN, they seem to get reviews out pretty quick...for bigger games they'll often have a review before its released

Noob here. I have a couple of questions regarding my xbox 360. About a month ago I connected it to the internet for the first time, and it prompted me to download the new xbox experience update, so I did, then poof, no sound (connected thru HDMI). I looked it up online and it appears that it's a pretty common problem, especially with elites. They have a trick to make it work, which is to disconnect the hard drive and reconnect it, but so far that hasn't worked for me (I'll try again tonight though). Anyone have similar problems? Am I just screwed? Just gotta wait for MS to release a new update?

Also, shortly after my sound went out, I got the E-74 error (1 red ring), so I sent it back to MS to fix since it was still under warranty. The refurbished xbox they sent back is dated '07 on the back. If I should get another RROD, will they still fix it? The date on my old 360 was 12-09. Thanks.

11-14 for GTA and like 7 for orange box through GameCrazy or similiar.

I just finished Dead Space on easy difficulty. I then realized that I can't replay single missions (LAME!!!). The game told me that I was awarded a couple of energy nodes and $$ for my first pass. Will I show up with that when I restart the game now on impossible difficulty? Anybody have any idea how to get some replay value out of that game?
