And I should be getting my repaired 360 from MS today (about time, I sent it on December 20).

Maybe I'm just not used to the controller, but I never die in the early levels of a Super Mario game. Don't get why I'm dying in level 1-2 of New Super Mario Bros. Fun as hell, though.

Ok, I'd rather take a shot with you guys than the aneurysm inducing 'customer support' offered up by Xbox.

Anyways, the most frustrating part is that I had the 360 (wired) to the router and working just fine until I did a hard reset of my Linksys WRT300N. Unfortunately, I can't remember if I had the 360's network settings configured for either Automatic or Manual but I can tell you than in order for my router to connect to the Internet (through the DSL modem), I have to have the username and password of my ISP's PPPoE saved to the router. Also, FWIW, right now I can connect my computers to the router both wirelessly and wired without issue. I can also connect the 360 to XBL by bypassing the router altogether.

After tweaking with the 360's settings, it seems as though the biggest issue I encounter is the console not being assigned an IP address, even if I toggle between making the router assign it one automatically and attempting to assign it one manually. I've also tried adding its MAC address to the DHCP table but that doesn't seem to help either (also, the green light of the 360's port on the router does light up when the console's powered on).

If the 360 allows you to spoof its mac address, try doing that (change the last number by just a little). Assuming that all the other computers on your network use DHCP (they prob do) you should do the same with your 360 (set it to "automatic").

Ha, I lived with one of the artists working on this game for a couple of months. He said exactly that: "We make pretty boring mainstream games, but we do make them look good."

Just played Megaman II after xxx years, i can't even get past one single level. And i was trying to chill, its f-in frustrating. May be i should play some Duckhunt or something.

As long as you find each boss weakness it's easy. I start with metal man, since he's easy to kill with the default weapon, and the metal gear you get from him is really nice.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue really got me excited til I realized it was just a souped-up demo.

if they actually release this one day the game better be a perfect sim in every way, with a damage model, perfectly functional online MP, and graphics so good you can see melted rubber in the fender wells

Question for techy-gamers:

Why can't Fallout 3 play like CoD4 when it comes to the shooting part?
Is it because they game is so big that they can't implement the same mechanics or do the development team just suck at that?

I was playing Oblivion not too long ago. I mean come on, the combat is terrible but the world and everything in it is aweome!! Why can't it be like God of War in 3rd person, it would be nice to feel that you are hitting and cutting stuff.

Maybe a couple of game studios should join forces...The tech is there I dunno what's stopping them.

I'm thinking of picking up GT5p, Burnout Paradise a PS3 and the logitech GT wheel. Burnout looks like a helluva deal, they have put tons of new content into that game since I played it last year.

Sony becomes the next Sega? I bought my PS3 for blu ray purposes with additional gaming stuff but I own zero games for my PS3. why buy on PS3 when I can play on my xbox?!??! maybe i should sell mine and get a "regular" blu ray player
