Wanted to buy a Hori RAP4 fight stick, placed it in my amazon basket while I put 130 on my card and as I wanted to buy the stick it had gone to 210. Who the **** does an over 60% increase overnight. WTF.

Apparently amazon does. Anyway if you do decide to spend over 200 bucks on a stick you might as well get a quanba dragon

I'm not spending 200, my upper limit was 130. Also the selection is super limited over here, so no Dragon. I can choose from 7-8 sticks at most, so I will probably get a Venom for 80€ and later mod it.

If you're ok with modding then I recommend you just get a Mayflash. They're garbage out of the box but the shell and PCB is fine if you bring your own stick and buttons.

Reading online, my best medium budget bet is this:

It's an evolution of the Mayflash 300 [50€ right now] or F500, with passable button and stick, which should last me a month or two until i shell out the additional 50€ for a Sanwa stick and buttons. There is also a Mayflash Universal Stick so I'm really confused with all these names haha.

Unfortunately I don't have a huge choice, so the alternatives would be a Qanba Q1 or Q2 (heard bad things) or 200+ joysticks.

It's also my first stick, so meh, even more confusion.

Honestly the RAP4 is pretty **** so I wouldn't feel too bad about missing out. I really don't like hayabusa.

If you're going to mod yourself then I recommend checking out seimitsu sticks and sticking with sanwa buttons. Sanwa sticks are still great I just prefer the feel of seimistu. Also don't get the mayflash universal, it's all plastic, get the 300 or 500. I wouldn't call the mayflash stock parts passable either so I'd order your parts the same time you get the stick.
