There were several better choices for the phrasing of that sentence.

JonTron reveals himself to be white supremacist or whatever, Yooka-Laylee developers cut him.

Several guys on internet proudly proclaim that they have now canceled their preorder. Yooka-Laylee devs are, apparently, infringing on JT's free speech, or whatever ****ing stupid **** they think.

EDIT: But sure, this is potentially another hypocrisy in the canceler's position that you have pointed out. You don't like something that somebody did, you stop doing business with them.

It's a shame that after all Playtonic have gone through and pulled off, every post about the game lately is flooded with comments about Jontron and there was really nothing they could do about it. I mean they post a pic of a backer reward on Twitter and the comments turn into a political war. I think they made the right decision but they would have had backlash if they left him in as well, just a ****ty situation that effects their game that they never had real control over. It's a fun, inoffensive game that got caught up in some bull****. I'm pretty sure/hoping it will all be forgotten after release.

Well, there doesn't appear to be any women involved for the gamergate crowd to latch onto hating, unlike the mass effect animation thing.

"Anti-bigotry bigotry is even worse than regular bigotry!"

I hope Playtonic does not give these people refunds.

A movie based on the classic game Rampage is going to start filming in Atlanta in April. Dwayne Johnson stars. I submitted to be an extra last night - I know there is a good chance the movie will be bad, but I want to be in it just for the delight of my childhood.

Plus, maybe a giant gorilla eats me or something.

Or maybe you are the naked person when the Giant Gorilla is killed and shrinks back to a human.

Rampage was def my #1 for a period of time, at the "Wizard of Oz Game Room" where many of us had birthday parties (unlimited tokens for X amount of time). There was a small core group of us who consistently just ground Rampage the entire time. After my 2nd Grade birthday party at that place we stopped at the mall and I got the Apple II version (not very good obv).

Yeah, they had a Rampage machine at Nickel City, and I used to love pumping nickels into the thing.

At least, until I discovered the pure joy that is Puzzle Fighter.

We had a similar place called Nickel Palace back when I was a kid with a similar format.

Turtles in Time and Street Fighter II were the most popular games.

Yeah, being able to go into an arcade and actually beat one of those quarter munchers like TMNT or Simpsons or Xmen was awesome

In Des moines there is a place called Up Down that is an arcade that basically rotates in old video games like the ones you mentioned on top of having a lounge area for console gaming. It was very satisfying beating a few of those games again, particularly Simpsons which was awesome partnering up with someone to play (x-men was good too).

My kid and I played through Simpsons on the Raspberry Pi. While it's great not having to plow 800 quarters into it, it's not nearly as satisfying just having unlimited lives.

May not be a video game, but Discord is doing some nice things with their software.

I wonder how much of a hit discord will take once twitch starts really pushing their desktop app which seems like it will do all the things discord can do plus have integrated screen sharing and video chat.

Mad Catz has filed for bankruptcy. So ends an era of funky, not-all-that-great compatible controllers.

They made pretty good arcade sticks at one stage. They were one of the first to make mass market tournament style sticks when SF 4 came out.

When I think of Mad Catz, I think of being the last one to join a game at someone's house and having to use the "other" controller.
