Cool. I used to play a long time ago, like when 6th style (CS) came out for JPS2. Nowhere good as you I'm thinking about getting back into it, but I don't have a controller ATM. Are the DJ Dao ones good? And how bad are the LCD-TV timing issues?

Just beat Dragon Quest IV for DS. Took me about 30 hours. Over the course of six days. That's kinda sad. Really fun game though.

i'm about 4h30m into DQIV and enjoying it.

Daos are really good if you can afford one. I'm not sure about the LCD lag... I think there's a setting at least in the later mixes where you can change the offset of the notes, but I'm really not sure.

I'm just getting to the monster castle after crossing the small pond with the collosus. Taken me about 18.5 hours and I've enjoyed every minute of it just as I did last time I could play it on my late NES.

I just bought Lost Odyssey and I must say the first boss is such a ****ing cheater. I get to him at level 12, and get stomped. I restart from the latest checkpoint(which is right before him even though there isn't a save point there). So Im thinking, Ill just level up a bit in the previous area and go right back in thinking If I die it'll put me back at that checkpoint w/ the same levels. LOL wrong. I die and it restarts me in the same spot but at level 12.

So I go all the way back to the previous save point area, and do some leveling up. Get back to level 14 thinking I can do it this time. I get Barricade/Shield set up on all my characters, bu the ****ing guy still manages to kill Jansen(healer). Every time I resurrect him, the guy auto kills him everytime. So Im like **** it, Ill try to use my two immortals. He immediately begins using Wind Burst every time, so no matter what I do I can't heal and attack because he kept doing Wind Burst every attack. Death ensues very quickly.

I level up 1 more time, and go back and amazingly enough he doesn't cheat. He never attacks the healer, nor does he do Wind Burst a single time. Kept doing poison claw, but everyone was immune to poison so he got his ass stomped this time.

Just saw the news that Capcom is rerererereleasing the original RE on Wii in Japan coming up. Seriously, do something else.

I just got GoW when I moved to the new house, roommate had it.. co-op single player is really fun.

They were advertising it on joystiq, and I saw the name of the video, so I searched for it on google, and found it, and I was like, this isn't very interesting. I finally found the real one after like the third time, and yes, I enjoyed it.

I'm downloading the PS3 demo right now of this. If it's anything like the originals it's pretty much an insta-buy.

Enjoy getting pissed off unless your great at mega man games. The demo is ****ing hard. I finally managed to get past the second elephant w/ about 1/3rd my life, only to find out there is another one!. Oh and you can fall to your death while he's shooting his ball at you. I didn't fall to my death, but I sure as hell didnt even manage to get one attack in while trying to jump over the ball and avoid falling to my death.

I think Ill pass on buying. Id rather keep my sanity intact.

You are right about the elephants, Dave. Although they so far captured the music, mood, everything just right so I'll pick it up.

I just wish they had a demo of LEGO Batman in the store. I haven't picked up Indiana Jones yet but the demo has ensured that I will at some point. I want to try it out before I buy it.

picked up stalker: soc today for 10 bucks

parents came into town this past week (just left today) and that means that I spent a good deal of my time at the Craps and Poker tables.

I hang out with them for a while, take them to new casinos and they get to take in the sights. Then they hit the slots and I go to one of the two games I like to play.

was up about 400 between the two, then after they went back to their hotel after dinner I ended up at the old strip and playing some 1/3 NL at Binions.
Won another 500+ there to give me almost a grand for the week.

Now off to buy a new game or two.

Did you get through chapter 6 because the boss I just encountered is kicking the **** out of me and I have no idea what to do. I've been screwing around with the immigrant town for the time being while I level up.

in old news, tabuu's red rings of doom on brawl are cheap as hell, especially when you've just been clearing everyone's boss battles to get the achievement and then up it to intense and the timing's different, resulting in instant death

You can check sonystyle.com, I got a 40gb PS3 from there for $299 w/ free shipping earlier this year. I assume they run that special every now and then so maybe keep an eye on it. Also with the 360's recent price drop Sony may be dropping by the holiday season.

Reviews say that Lego Batman is just Lego IJ/Lego Star Wars with new characters. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I would guess that if you like one, you'll like the other two also. Personally, I love Lego Star Wars and will definitely be getting Lego IJ and Lego Batman some day.

I played the demo again today, and apparently you get to use the dog in the demo. It helps to get past the second elephant. You get real close to him where the ball bounces over your head. Once its past start shooting(the dog will auto drop), then when the ball is being sucked back in just jump on the dog and when you come down the ball will be shot back past you already. Rinse repeat. I haven't figured out how to beat the third elephant though.

The boss is the Chow Mein and can't remember the other. They can do up to 300pts of damage a turn(if one throws boulder and the other spits fire). I've beaten them twice now and got a special char on my team(definitely don't read if you haven't gotten this far):


The two just fight about whats better, the Chicken or the Egg, lol. But apparently if you defeat them in a certain number of turns(my fastest right now is 32 turns and I'm struggling mightily vs them using Yddrassil dews and leaves left and right) you get the best equip in the game for the secret character.

I'm not exactly sure where to go after defeating these two and getting all the best equipment but I'll worry about that after I do it, lol.

BTW, I'm level 40(hero) 42(Ragnar) 43(Alena) 42(Kyril) and 39 (Maya). Those are basically the only ones I use with Boyra and Meena in extreme situations. Torneko sits on the bench. I also use the secret char a lot as well...
