Not the mechanic yet but there's a bunch of games with One More Jump in the title released after we did, I expected it to happen though. We can't really do anything about it either, it happens to every game that gets featured. My fav was "One More Jump on Stony Dash Line Road 2" which manages to reference 5 games in one title.

We owned the name OMJ on the app store before release but someone got through certification and released a game under that name a couple weeks before us and we were able to get that taken down. People can be really ruthless though. I've seen templates on the Unity store of well known games literally called "*Game name* Template" and it takes Unity months to take them down. By that time there's already a thousand clones on both app stores.

Also found this adorable corner of YouTube where little boys post videos of their "antique" finds such as 2005 TV/DVD combos:

I have a CRT that I've always been happy with graphically for my SNES and NES to hook up to. Granted I haven't played either in over a year, but I need that option!

Nice work on the CRT. I think that video with the kid is funny but still kind of cool. "Happiest day of my life". At least he appreciates it.

Now time to step your game up and get an RGB CRT or a PVM/BVM.

New gaming PC finally got here, a little over a month after I purchased it. There were several delays and absolutely no communication from cyberpowerpc.

First, they said my motherboard was out of stock. Then, they said my graphics card was out of stock. This took a total of two calls for me to find out, as they again in no way communicated that they were out of stock of anything. They did not offer me any sort of option to swap in stock parts for what they were missing. They also did not offer to upgrade my shipping.

I did not pay for professional wiring, but the inside looks about as professional as you can imagine. I only paid for 8 GB of RAM because they wanted $140 to upgrade the 16 GB. Instead, I just purchased the ram that I needed at a substantial discount to what they were charging. It was incredibly easy to install, of course.

Just starting to get my OS installed, but I'm very curious to see how this thing runs. Hoping the MSI board is slick.

My CRT is looking good, however my NES shows clear wavy lines on the screen. Not a dealbreaker for playing but definitely not ideal. Searching indicates that this is a common problem. It's sometimes solved by moving wires around or switching to a Genesis or other type of power source, but that hasn't worked for me. The root cause seems to be that old electronics eventually start having interference, and you need to do a "recapping" of...caps (I have little/no understanding of what this is). It's a heavy soldering job so I'd need to send it away somewhere.

If your capacitors need replaced, it isn't a terribly hard thing to do. A guy taught me how to do that in one showing so I could fix my own tv.

Good thing it is a fake.

I'll take D3x2 or D4 over a Diablo 2 rehash.

could be unofficial and timing with blizzcon just a purposeful coincidence/mislead

I've been getting into ARPGs again, so thought I'd give D3 a go.

Really, really disappointing. Barely made it through one playthrough before I quit and went back to PoE and Grim Dawn.

Battle Garegga is getting ported to the PS4 by M2. It might look like a regular shoot em up to most people but it's truly one of the greatest games of all time and one of the smartest, almost perfect designs ever. Even if you're not a fan of the genre I still recommend you read this excellent write up on Garegga's design - http://www.battlegareg.ga/

I know people love the authenticity of playing on an original console but honestly, I just recommend people get a Wii and softmod it. You can run everything at the original resolution so it will look exactly the same.

And this is the kind of thinking you should've applied to the whole new machine, not just the ram

Tried that on the last two pcs. Wasn't going to let one single bad part ruin my day to day life for the next two years, particularly since the cost wasn't really that much more than building it generally

I don't get what you're saying here? What single bad part? One of the advantages of building a rig yourself is that if there's a bad part you can just change that - if you have someone build it for you and something is wrong, you have to ship the entire rig to them for fixing.

As for the cost - the month spent waiting for them to get around to building it has value imo

You could read the pc help thread or whatever. Noodle has been having issues with several pc's for like months.

Spent a very long time on my 2nd to last PC trying to figure out what the gremlin in the system was. Tried all sorts of things but never could find the problem.

Last PC had issues either with the mobo or the power. $500+ worth of graphics cards up in smoke.

After those experiences, you too might let the fatigue set in and just enjoy having a warranty, having someone else be in charge of making your **** work.

My solution to trying to figure out which part is bad is to just RMA everything.

Yeah, no thanks. I'm fine paying a slight premium and letting someone else worry about it.

One of the reasons why I am so pro-self-building is that the last PC I bought built by a store I had to return 3 times and it still never worked correctly.

And, rather than being able to just return a faulty part, I had to drag the whole damn thing to and from the post office all those times and this was a big tower thing weighing over 20kg.

They kept returning it with the exact same problem as I sent it in for (the usb-ports in front caused a short circuit when used) - after the third time I just gave up and never used those ports and covered them so they would never be touched.

So yes, if you were guaranteed that the guys building it were more competent at finding and fixing problems than yourself, then I would agree. But they're usually not
