Anyone going to be getting back into Gears of War now that they put the 'refresh' out? I'm tempted to.. its either this or Halo3, CoD4 has burnt itself out after 100+ hours online.

for some reason i want to punch that guy in the face. pretty good otherwise.

how long do you think it will be until we see another PS3 price drop? I'm not in a rush to get one so I'm holding off for now (unless there's a good bundle that comes out), but if it's not going to go down in the next year then I might as well get one now.. Also do you think they'll come out with a PS3 slim any time soon like they did for PS2? Something with backwards compatibility, a smaller look, and less energy consumption would be awesome

the most recent "price drop" in the way of a marquee title and a new controller being included in the box just occured, so i'd be personally surprised if they do it anytime soon but it's still anyone's guess. the recent models are also supposed to have lower power consumption fwiw, at least better than the original 20GB/60GB.

If you have Wii or Gamecube, and money isn't a problem, you shoulda shelled out for the remake of it, so awesome...

I know this is fanboyish, but I just bought a PS3 and I have no desire to buy any game for it. Looking through metacritic I am amazed really at how many good(not great) titles there are for the 360. And there are better exclusives out there. I really hope PS3 gets better games soon!

1. Sony stated their goal was to start showing a profit on the PS3 this year.
2. They just released numbers showing they've lost $3billion it so far.
3. There's no big games coming to the PS3 anytime soon, so there would be nothing to coordinate/advertise the price drop with.

I think those three make it unlikely for there to be a price drop for the PS3 anytime soon. I would expect the holidays at the earliest unless the 360 suddenly starts outselling it 3:1 or something (which I also do not expect to happen).

i'm in the same boat. i bought it mostly for the blu ray player, but it would be nice to have some cool games to play on it. right now all my friends play xbox online, no need to get any ps3 games for me

have you played Resistance, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, or Warhawk? those were all pretty good imo

Man I was happy when I heard Mark Wahlberg was playing Max Payne, but that was kind of underwhelming.

Weeee I finally managed to beat Ninja Gaiden II. The end boss was a ****ing beating. Geez, have me fight 2 sub-bosses before I get to the final boss. Sweet, I ended up using all my health items in doing so. Whats that? Now I have to fight an end boss w/ 2 different forms, and you didn't give me another Muramasa Shop. Oh geez, thanks alot you ****ing *******s.

Can someone settle a dispute for me.. My friend who lives about an hour away bought an XBOX 360 Pro 2 weeks ago, so I asked if he got XBOX live Gold yet.. he said he didn't need to because it came with 12 months free.. I said I don't think it works that way, you get 1 month free trial for Gold but then have to pay for a Gold membership or you go back down to silver which doesn't allow you to go online.. he insists that he has 12 months of Gold.. he hasn't bought a gold membership via the online store or a retailer.. is this possible or is he getting silver membership mixed up with gold? I tried reverting him to websites like the official xbox one but he's so adamant that he's right

I think you get 3 1-month trials of gold per console. But each one has to be done under a different gamertag.

I've played Resistance and Uncharted and wasn't really impressed with either.

Neither is a Bioshock, but they are better than average games, definitely worth a look for someone starving for something to play.

bought the Baldurs Gate/Icewind Dale collection the other day, costs 15€ has 4 games + all add ons, sick value imo

So my Wii finally arrived today. Went out and bought Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda Twilight Princess, Mario Party 8, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and Spyro: The Eternal Night (supposedly this Spyro isn't great but I loved the old ones and it's only $20 new, so what the hell). I also got Wii Play but mostly for the extra remote, but the random mini-games other people might enjoy.

I started off playing the Wii Sports game and getting used to the remote / nunchuck. It worked pretty well for those games but badly lacked any kind of depth which was to be expected so not a big deal.

I put in Super Mario Galaxy and I'm stunned at how awesome it is. I'm not too far into it (I've beaten two "worlds" and have 7 super stars atm), but it's really awesome. The controls are extremely intuitive and it's fun running around collecting stuff and crushing bad guys, good stuff. The level designs are very unique and the graphics are solid. Overall this game is pretty much the nuts, and I'm impressed with the Wii in general so far.

It's unadvertised but you get 3 three month trials. Create a new account, select silver and it autoupgrades you to gold.
