Also wtf are they going to do when all these warranties run out? It's not like all of a sudden the 360's will start working forever just because the warranty is over.

Part of me wants to dump my regular one for whatever I can when it's fixed and get the Elite, but another part of me wants to organize a protest at the steps of microsoft until they give us lifetime warranties.

There are do it yourself fixes for a majority of the RROD error's so I plan on trying those out when mine breaks out of warranty.

Butcho, I think they cover RRoD issues for 3 years which is plenty of time. 360s sold on day 1 of release are still under coverage.

I've been playing alot of classic games since hooking my laptop up to my 50" which creates a sick experience.

Anyhow, I just recently was replaying Altered Beast which I had fond memories of. But man. First, I don't remember that game having such serious gay overtones. I'm picking up little orbs that are making me buff and having all my clothes (excepting my ginormous cod piece) slowly rip off exposing my well honed physique. Second, I don't remember this game being so damned tough. I was having a tough time getting through the third level - with your tiny little life guage that doesn't refill between levels and 0 continues.

And publishers accuse PC game consumers of being pirates. No idea how the devs could have been so stupid to think they'd get away with this.

Rooks it goes even further than that. That game has turned into a sort of scavenger hunt for nerds (people are finding things from several games, and even some movie trailers):

So, I'm a huge Lost fan and Gamefly sent me Lost: Via Dumos the other day. Last night at about 7 I pop it in. At midnight I had A) completed the game and B) got 1000/1000 achievements. I used a guide after finishing to grab the few achievements I missed, but damn that is one short ass game. The game is really only like 4 hours and with a guide you could get 1000/1000 in one 4 hour playthrough easy.

Overall the game is not that bad. It would be lame for a non-Lost watcher as they sorta assume you know a lot of the story that they don't show you (certain real show story line elements happen without you seeing them) and as a Lost watcher there are definitely holes. They try to make you some sort of background Lostie that runs into the main characters here and there, but occasionally you move from background storyline to doing something that contradicts the TV storyline.

Recommendation: Skip if you don't watch Lost. If you do and you want a easy 1000 achievement points, rent it and play it for a night. If you don't care about achievements, it's very skippable.

Anyone play Lego Indiana Jones yet? Is it as good as Lego Star Wars?

It's the top of my queue and I hope I don't get skipped this time.

I've played Legos up to the first chapter of Last Crusade. Imo I like Indiana Jones a little less because I don't like the combat nearly as much. Most of the fun in LSW for me was in the lightsaber combat, IJ seems a little more like an adventure game that lets you get in the occasional fight (it's a little more puzzle-heavy). The item system is kind of neat, instead of having 13 bazillion characters with different powers, most characters can do most things if they have the right tools. On the downside, sometimes the button to use an item is too similar to some other action so it sometimes gets annoying trying to stand in exactly the right spot so your character starts digging instead of yelling or flailing a whip or whatever.

Question: If I use my 360 roughly 1 time per month (give or take), how long should it be until I get a RROD?

Uhhh, not everyone gets a RROD and playing time is in no way correlated with it happening (AFAIK).

But, how do you know you don't have the RROD if you've never turned it on to see?

I was just reminiscing about old games I played today. And I forgot how much I hate SOE. God they ****ed up so many games.

First MMO I played was swg, I had way more fun playing that game when I was 13 then I ever had playing wow. But that was Pre-"combat upgrade". They basically lost their entire veteran player base attempting to lure in new customers, which didn't happen.

SOE can die.

I was at Fry's Electronics and I impulse bought a 1GB SD Card because it was on sale for $8. I figured that I could use it for my Wii. I put it in my Wii and tried to back up my files. Turns out most of the files can't be backed up. This includes both save files and Virtual Console titles. (I only have two VC, one backed up, the other wouldn't).

Since I can't actually back up most of my data, what good is the SD card slot on the Wii?

i just got this yesterday and fired it up today

it's the first legos game i've played but i'm grinning while playing it like a downy.

kinda annoying camera work for some tedious movements on screen at parts, but pretty fun so far.

You can use it for your digital camera, or if it's a mini, your phone. Some handheld GPS systems have readers. Also, some computers and laptops have memory card readers.

I now remember why Starcraft is the best game ever made. I got into it again because I recently just found out there finally making a sequel. I'm sure everyone else knows that by now, but it was news to me. I went onto youtube and saw actual gameplay footage and then onto the SC2 site. The game is going to be amazing, and now I'm playing a game made 10 years ago because of it.

Anyone still play? I'm such a noob I've found out. I never used hotkeys before or scroll on the screen using only the mouse, so thats been hard to adjust to. I found this site (GomTV) that has videos of the korean pro gamer matches. It's just insane how good those kids are. 300 actions per minute... ours are probably like 50 or 100 on a good day.

So yeah, Starcraft is awesome.
I used to be pretty decent at the game. You know you can make groups of units by selecting them and pressnig ctl+i(i=0..9), then you can select them by pressing the number key, and have the camera focus on them by pressing it twice. For example I would have my command center be hotkey 0. My rush force hotkey 1 etc. It's awesome to have a group of 4 high templar ready to roll incase a zerg enemy flies up on you with a mutalisk rush. 'Press' 'Press' Oh psionic storm ftmfwin!!!

You're right, SC is such an awesome game... SC2 is going to be THE ****. Blizzard is renowned for having awesome UI's, as well as polished gameplay, which are exactly what a successful RTS needs. I hope to god they have dual monitor support.

Ah I can see it now... "THE OFFICIAL SC2 WAGERING THREAD"
