Heh figured it out but man was that a pain. Turns out I had to grant something internet access in order for the game to load properly. But the firewall popup doesn't override the Portal loading screen and Portal doesn't allow you to alt-tab or ctl-alt-delete.

Who in their right mind would ever choose to purchase a USED 1st gen 360?

Some better fights later down the line, but no, not really.

You have to do it kinda quickly. Not like super fast but you can't wait to long between notes.

ZOMG new tim shafer game http://www.brutallegendgame.com/splash/

Quote:
Brütal Legend follows the story of Eddie Riggs (named for Eddie the Head, the mascot of Iron Maiden, and Derek Riggs, the artist who created him), who is living as a roadie for a Heavy Metal band. The game begins one night before a gig. As Riggs is tuning a guitar, an accident happens and he starts to bleed, his blood dripping onto his cursed belt buckle, which bears a strong resemblance to Motörhead's Snaggletooth emblem. Before he knows it, the beast on his buckle has come alive and transported him into a Heavy Metal and Nordic fantasy inspired alternate history where demons have enslaved humanity.

I just finally picked up Bioshock today now that the price is reduced to 39.99...

Went to game crazy and they had the deal going on, buy a new Bioshock and get a new Darkness for free..... so I figure'd now was as good of a time as any to pick it up.

since Bioshock dropped to 40 bucks and I got a free copy off The Darkness with the purchase, I started playing The Darkness today. Figure'd that I would play the lesser of the two games first.

So far it isn't too bad, the controls are not the greatest, but I like the voice acting and the game looks great. I really also like eating peoples hearts.... oh, that's joyous!

Overall I'm horrible at Shooters and don't play them often, so I'm expecting to get completely frustrated at some point and just give up.

If anyone is still looking for a Wii, Joystiq is reporting:

Quote:
To guarantee a Wii this Sunday at Toys R Us, customers need to stop by their local store and put down a $200 deposit. The five stores we called were accepting pre-orders for about 50 systems. Meanwhile, two of the stores asked why we wanted the pre-order details when they have them in stock?

Personally I was somewhat underwhelmed with Bioshock and was overwhelmed how friggin' fantastic The Darkness turned out to be. I'm not saying it's the better game, but I definitely think that it's way underrated IMO. Great game, great story, plenty of visceral violence.

Just went back and finished the 1000/1000 achievements on it too actually.

Heart skipped a beat when I thought it was gonna be Full Throttle 2. Please Tim give us one more hearty adventure game.

I'm playing Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines patched now. The Ocean House level is the scariest level I have ever played. A really bad timing from my lightbulb in my room to burn through, just as fell down some stairs in the game. This game keeps awing me. Really immersive.

Gonna play Discworld after this, heard it was really nice at times. I tried Clive Barker's Undying, but was put off by the dated graphics too much to enjoy the story.

Finally have a gaming rig that can run Crysis and Assassins Creed and I just want to play the old Lucas Arts games. How could Super Mario Bros II keep me captivated for months and I go like: meh. nice graphics with most new games? Ugly gameplay these days. Get off my 8800GT!

I started in on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune a few days ago on PS3, played about 2 hours. Initial impressions:

- Fantastic graphics, some of the best I've seen on a console, the character animations are really well done as well, whole thing kinda has a movie-like feel to it which is cool
- Combat is pretty meh; it's kinda like Gears of War in that you frequently take cover behind something and pop out to shoot, except way less fun
- The puzzle/platforming parts aren't really that engaging, it feels like it's trying to be Prince of Persia in that regard but it just doesn't pull it off as well; the platforming has some great moments but usually it feels more like a chore than fun

So, I guess I hope it improves.

It doesn't. Its very formulaic and uninteresting imo. Most disappointing/boring game I have played recently apart from maybe Assassin's Creed which is worse.

Man I am 80% done with this game right now too, just started it a couple weeks ago. I can't believe I waited so long to play it, it's fantastic. I thought that level was amazing, especially when you approach the washing machine in the basement and open it expecting something gruesome. It really makes me sad Troika is no more.

I have to say I think Shaylebridge Cradle from Thief III was probably scarier though, as were a couple parts in The Suffering.
