there's a guy at my office that has like 80 hours on it, hasn't finished, but talks about finishing it all the time.

I have about 65 hours on Persona 3. Loved the first 40 but now hate the game and think it's stupid. It could have been so good too.

I'm kinda looking forward to the new version of it coming out with an extra 40 or so hours of gameplay on it.

You've played through it then? Didn't you find it became extremely repetitive around half way through? IMO the game should have been 15-20 hours shorter, not 40 longer.

It's really good but at the same time not awesome, idk.

I played like 95% then quit for 6 months then finished it.

I am on Lost Oddessy 4th disc [just started the 4th] and haven't played in like 3 weeks because I bought Oblivion GOTY and even though I've played it a lot on PC it's still awesome.

Not being able to cheat is a godsend and I have no temptation to mod!

im currently doing it with lost oddysey. beat the first disk, loved the game, but havnt touched it in over a month. this has a lot to do with COD4 tho

ditto. i rented Lost Odyssey, played for 6 hours, thought it was awesome, i bought it, haven't touched it since. i blame cod4 and the ability to prestige =/

how much should i expect to pay for a used xbox 360 at a store? how about on e-bay? one of my 8th grade students had his house burn down and i want to do something to cheer him up, but i don't have tons of money to spend on this

this sounds accurate, the plot is meh and some of the characters (even major ones) are superfluous but the gameplay is fun.

I got about 35 hours into it but haven't played in a while, I think the story dragged on a bit too much.

The xbox 360 arcade is $280. You can get maybe $30 off if you order it from buy.com. GL with this very nice thing to do for the kid

assuming they drop the price like everyone is assuming they will before gta hits that should drop the price of the used systems down to 150 or so if you can wait to get it for him.

some people are suggesting that this will be like live on the original xbox and be sort of a way to work out the bugs before their next console hits. probably not a bad idea if they are commited to waggle in the next gen.

Could be, but it should be pretty simple to implement as a peripheral using USB ports. It's definitely a good idea for them to add it. All it can do is expand the appeal of the 360. Plus CoD5 with motion controls would be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

So I'm like 3 hours into Zelda: TP and still waiting to see what all the hype is about wrt it being one of the best games evar. Does it pick up at some point? So far:

- The story seems like it was put together by a 6 year old filling out a fantasy mad lib
- There are zero interesting/fun gameplay mechanics; combat is not difficult, nor does it require anything more than shaking my wiimote anytime I'm within 10 feet of an enemy
- Nintendo apparently doesn't realize that the Wii has powerful enough hardware to implement voice acting the way every other game in the world right now does (including games on their own system, like RE4)
- The way **** happens in the game just doesn't make sense sometimes; for example, those two kids being like "lol you can't pass if you don't let us play with your sword", HOW ABOUT I BASH YOU TWO IN THE ****ING HEAD WITH THIS SWORD YOU LITTLE ****ING SHRIMPS, YOU GONNA LET ME PASS THEN WHEN YOUR SKULL IS BLEEDING ALL OVER THIS PRETTY MEADOW? YEAH, WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO THEN ****WADS?

So, uh, what am I missing?

goofy, yeah the first 5 or so hours suck, then it picks up. there are definitely slow points in the game, but in general it keeps getting better and better.

Not too much. TP is the worst of the Zelda games imo. Definitely nowhere near being one of the best games ever. It isn't a terrible game, but it just isn't as fun as any of the other Zeldas.

Twilight Princess is fine, but Ocarina of Time is arguably top 5 game of all time.

i'm playing through zelda: windwaker for the first time, and i really dig the graphical style of it despite it supposedly being "kiddie-like". the story is decent, too, once it finally picks up (after several hours, like some other zelda games).

i ***** hate the wolf form.
I didn't mind the game until I had to start doing all that crap as a wolf which really just turned me off from the game.
Then, I'm playing the game one day trying to get past this wolf part so I can start playing in human form again and try to get back into the story and the gameplay when my power goes out and I realize that i forgot to save and now have to replay like the last 2 hours or some ****, and I have not put the game back in the wii since then.

Grrrr I bought Orange box off of steam 3 hours ago. First hour went to downloading portal. The last 2 hours have gone to trying to get portal to work. I can't even post on the ****ing forum to get help because they require all accounts be granted access to post.
