As many of you may know, I have been playing through Mario 64 for like the 7th time instead of playing Okami, or finishing Secret of Mana or Zack and Wiki, etc.

I had just beaten the last Bowser with 119 stars, and was going back up to get the 8 red coins on that last level, when the thought hit me that this may be the last time I play through this great game (I am 26 and recently married). I had also just completely beaten Banjo-Tooie and Banjo-Kazooie, and the same thought came across me (but I will play Banjo-Kazooie again, since it is my favorite game of all time). It seems like I am closing in on the end of my gamer life, and it saddens me....

Anyone else felt like this?

Haven't personally run into that "this may be the last" feeling yet, that_pope.

Have you seen this Mario 64 video? (you may have posted it for all I know, can't remember where I got the link)

I haven't played any of the Banjo games, but I understand that an older one is being remade on XBLA.

Remakes always leave open the possibility for later play. I'd replay all kinds of crap in high-quality HD.

Any impressions on the Halo Warz demo? I'm kinda meh on it but I'm not that big into RTS games to begin with, so I'm probably even less likely to enjoy one on a console.

It got a meh from me. While there are some great improvements for the console, it still doesn't feel right. Normal difficulty was also way way too easy.

What do you guys think of the RE5 demo? Just messed with it for a quick 15 mins, it seemed pretty legit. Fwiw, I've never gotten into the Resident Evil series, but this game might change that for me.

I'll download the RE5 demo, but I don't expect to play it for a long time between SF2 HD and SF4. I hated the stand-and-pivot aiming on RE4 for the GameCube, though, and that was my first real experience trying the series. I had avoided it in the past due to perceived control issues from what I'd seen. Coming from a snobby keyboard and mouse FPS perspective, taking 25 seconds to headshot three people at a point-blank distance seemed much more like playing the controls rather than playing the game. I did also purchase the Wii version (over a year ago?) to give it a more fair chance, but I still haven't opened it.

Control scheme is god awful, everything else was solid.

Yeah I can definetly see some hang-ups with the controls.. I was attributing most of my issues to just plain being a newb to the series. The over the shoulder perspective, combined with some wonky mechanics (weapon switching/running) do seem real though.

Uh, haven't RE controls always been pretty bad? Is this one much different than the previous versions?

Just bought my first PS2 (You heard me!) along with XIII, Beyond Good and Evil, and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Two Thrones.

I like that I was about to pay $80 to buy one from a guy in town, but instead went to gamestop and traded in 3 old 360 games and got a silver slim edition for $45, wireless controller included (so far it's a piece of **** though, may need batteries).

XIII is an average adventure/FPS game that has a good storyline and cell shaded graphics. I picked it up used a 2 years ago for Gamecube. Got it the same time as Prince of Persia (first one) and liked it much better. For all the hype PoP got, it wasn't fun to play at all (to me).

I was enjoying XIII quite a bit but decided to switch to PoP:sands to try it out. I'd heard yahtzee from Zero Punct. rave about it for so long I thought I'd give it a try.

Normally I'm a person who a game is ruined for by ****ty cameras. I have seen a good deal of camera ******ation, but nothing too terrible. That aside, I've had an absolute blast with the game so far. The fluid combat, acrobatic moves, it's just all so fun!

I still hope I can find my copy of Nitrous Oxide for PS. Need to get high and freak out playing that game.

I'm in the same boat, looked into all the AAA titles and am playing my way through the back catalogue. So far have completed

Black solidly constructed FPS let down by too many uninspired levels, enemies that can take to much punishment and bullet impacts that don’t result in satisfying reaction animations. 7/10

Ico Puzzle platformer with great presentation. It has a very deliberate pace slower then the average platformer and that allows it to present a beautifully lit and framed vistas and makes the moments of frantic action as you try to save the girl from the shadow monsters all the more tense. 9/10

Resident evil 4 Great creepy atmosphere, music and ambient noise are very unsettling in this third person shooter. It has a lot of ideas and keeps throwing exciting set pieces at you. Still playing so it might go down hill at the end but so far its 9/10

Yay for Luigi! Finally beat New Super Mario Bros. Great game. Challenge really ramped up at the end, until the meh boss battle (getting to the boss was a challenge, but beating the boss was easy). But still highly recommended. I think I completed every level also. Just need to get every big gold coin now.

I cried. :-(
I REALLY hope that they let you map the controlls the way you want. Like not having to hold down a button to run. It's so ****ing slow.
I was VERY disappointed in the lack of improvment in the control scheme.

Fast responsive movment + less ammo/life = enjoyable tension.

Having two popular game franchises named "GOW" which are both on their 2nd installments is just plain confusing

I Instantly thought Gears of War until you made this comment, so I clicked the link to be enlightened.

Maybe we should change them to GdOW and GrOW
