Time is something you have to factor in. Not everyone wants/can afford to mess around with PC problems and would rather just let someone else deal with it while they do something else with their time.

PCs due to their modular nature are just so ****ing random in the infinity+1 glitches they can manifest.

About every 3 months my PC will power on, post, but will not intialiase the monitor or keyboard.

I have to take the GPU out, blow on it, resettle it.

PC works fine for 3 months.

Also its pretty easy to find relatively small PC builders who know what they are doing. Building your own PC is great till is isnt, then it really really isnt.

Helps if you have parts you can swap in to troubleshoot. I can sympathize with not wanting to deal with RMAs and risk not having anything for up to a month. That said, do your research and pay a bit more for well reviewed part models from established companies and you're going to have to get fairly unlucky to have any problems.

In 20 years of building PCs the only non-peripheral problem I've ever had was a mobo fry itself because there was some transparent manufacturer decal tape covering the northbridge chip that the manual probably told me to remove, lasted for about a week before that overheated and died. And of my friends that have had trouble, the parts they picked were ones I would have skipped because of widespread reviews mentioning reliability problems.

That's the thing, I always review the hell out of each component because I don't like have any problems whatsoever. Until 2 pcs again I never had one so much as lock up. I put that down to quality parts and being careful what software I run.

When that streak ended, it ended hard. I asked people all over for help, people with four times the experience I have, never could get it figured out.

As I get older, I have less time for bull**** like hoping I randomly guessed the right part to RMA and that the tester there isn't completely incompetent.

I still got to pick all my parts on this build, but it's on someone else if things are having problems.

Well ****, it wasn't the PSU. Looks like my motherboard has kicked it.

Is there a website that tracks activity of online multiplayer games? Specifically, I'm considering getting my kids PvZ Garden Warfare 2 and want to see if enough people play to make it a worthwhile purchase.

From the stats in the email I can see he completed 30 levels and died a total of 90 times which isn't really that much. Can't see the screen he last quit on though.

You can use percentages to prove anything, 40% of all people know that.

Yea, I got to level 36 before I considered sending you a 'Dear developer, please go **** yourself! Sincerely...'-message.

Since it's brought up though - after 164 deaths on that one, I've still only got 2 diamonds and it's a blight on my otherwise perfect record, so if you could tell whoever designed that level to ***** that'd be much appreciated.

If it's that third diamond in 36 then I made that harder like 2 days before release because the previous place could cause the player to do bug out and do weird **** so you're welcome.

Censoring it is pretty unfair for those of us using it legitimately though...

Also - while I realise evil geniuses tend to be somewhat careful, should you happen to receive a package, addressed to "the evil **** who put the level 36 third diamond where it is two days before release" that's ticking and smells faintly of anthrax in the coming days, I'm sure it's fine to open it.

for level design, did you follow the mario maker rule of not releasing a level you personally couldn't beat?
