I've only played a little bit of multiplayer, but afaict, you just gain or lose multiplayer notoriety. There's a specific notoriety skill tree.

Yeah, and it's seamless. You just get a prompt while you're running around that lets you know there's a hacker. It lasts a few minutes and you move on, win or lose. You have the option to turn off invasions.

Interesting, I think the Polygon review had the opposite opinion, that the side missions were just distracting.

I still think the servers are f'd for PC anyway... I'll search for a race for days and it times out, then when I do find one the only other player leaves and I'm stuck waiting for a player for days again. Same with decryption. The only mode that seems to work quickly is the ctos mobile.

yes, but not while you are actually in the middle of a mission. invasions happen while you are travelling to the mission start marker, or just wandering about.

I forwarded the ports, I don't see how disabling network adapters would make a difference but I'll give it a shot... Turns out they were already disabled except my lan. I think the servers are just dog****.

Man I was just tailing someone in an ice cream truck and it got to 95 % and he went to switch rides and I knocked him on his ass with my skyline. He got up and started shooting at me from about 40 meters when the observation hit 100%. Looool

Tonight was fun

Did the first 5 levels of one of the drinking games tonight, it got pretty hard even at this early stage! Doing that unlocks the "piledriver" shotgun, which is a massive improvement on the standard cheap one I had before (I haven't put much time in to getting loads of money / buying all the weapons, since I read money comes far too easily anyhow).

So, I got my shiny new shotgun and proceeded to do a couple of storyline missions - Act one mission 6 and then 7 - first mission that I found pretty challenging. Thought that's enough for today, so drove back to the motel where you sleep / save progress. As I tried to enter it wouldn't let me, purple again! He spoke this time, something like "hmm that's a fixer on to me, gotta take care of this immediately". So out with the profiler and on to the street, stumbled across the hacker within about 10 seconds lol he was driving a car at high revs. whipped out the shotty (I guess with "anti-vehicle rounds" from notoriety first level bonus), opened fire on the car and it almost fell apart on the spot, wasted him straight away. I failed to mash the PS4 share button properly so I was unable to get a clip of my fastest ever hacker takedown But def a fun memory, the game continues to amaze.

I was being hacked in the Loop and people everywhere, shot in air and everyone scattered and police came in no time. Got into shoot out with police and stole their vehicle. I somehow found the guy? Purple area showed up and I floored it there with police on me and ended up creating a mess with hacking street lights. At the intersection was the hacker in a car. I drove straight into intersection and another police cruiser rammed the hacker and killed him haha

I then tried hacking someone, guy led me into scarce part of town with no cover or people, needless to say I was found quickly and taken out, not good at all

i have only done the poker and chess mini games. poker is obv lol and the chess ones were surprisingly fun, gonna have to keep trying to get 3 stars on all 10 levels

Does this game have gameplay options for multiple people on the same console?

Turns out you can hack people during the poker game. What I found is that the stress level is higher when they have a ****ty hand, and lower when they are closer to the nuts.

Try the chess pathing challenge where you have a queen vs a bunch of pawns, very easy to get all 10 levels.

What happens when you pause the game IRT online tailing and hacking? Can people tail me when I'm just afk? I usually just leave the game on while I go eat or w/e and I find it unnerving that someone can just farm notoriety while I'm afk, lol.

I'm interested to know how the online tailing works in general, as in when people can actually do it. I know they can't do it while you're in a story mission, or convey/fixer mission etc. but they can definitely do it while you're trying to hack into a ctOS tower, because I've spotted someone while I was hopping rooftops trying to get access... Also, what happens when you use focus and someone is in the game? It wouldn't make sense that the game slows down for them... I'm mainly interested in what happens when the game is paused when there is another player in your game. When you pause it everything appears to halt (in the background), and when you unpause it, it resumes. What does the other player see when you do this?

Anyone else experience random 10-second freezes mid-game on PC? The game is unplayable for me because of this.

Do you have an AMD card? I read on PC Gamer they were releasing a patch soon to help alleviate the fps lag/stuttering problems.

From what I've read from others the background will continue to run when paused if a player has infiltrated your game. Not sure about focus but I do recall there was a point in time when it didn't seem to slow my game down. Maybe because somebody was in the game with me? I can't remember what happened immediately after but it seems plausible that this would be another giveaway that a player is in your game.

Obvious solution would be to mimic what's going on in the hacked persons game, meaning both screens get paused / go into slow mo when the hacked person initiates them .. at least until they are notified that somebody is hacking them.

Dont think focus works if someone is in your game.

So that would be a way to see if someone is in your game? Just go into focus and see if the game doesn't slow down? I'll try it next time I get invaded.

Also, what happens when you go to queue and someone is invading your game?

I have a GTX 770 card. I had some crazy fps drops but I think I fixed it. Now I have random freezes.

Confirmed focus doesn't slow you when you're being invaded. I just tried it, didn't slow, went to do a fixer mission, sure enough, there it was.

What originally tipped me off, is I was going to a crime prevent, and the blue triangle disappeared.

Online tailing is a little confusing. When do they recieve some kind of notification that you're in their game? With some players it seems like they know immediately after I join because they stop what they're doing and go into a defensive shell, hiding in remote places before I even profile them. Very annoying.

What's hilarious is that when I paused the game to make this post I noticed the background was still in action. Sure enough I drove a bit further and saw a car driving erraticly behind me. Got out and took him out with my AK before he even knew what hit him.

So I've found the best way to hack someone without getting caught. Don't hide in a car, don't try to blend in with the crowd, just find a real nice hiding spot behind a wall, in some brush. This guy ran literally right over me a few times, but I was late with the screen shot. I was busy laughing my ass off:











Another tactic I found that works and is equally hilarious, if there is no brush around like the previous set of screenshots, just try to find a crouchable-behind platform, in a complete square or rectangle. I found one in the park, and I just kept my eye on where the target was, and as soon as he was going to get into my line of sight I just turned the corner to keep the platform in between us. OP!

I think they're alerted when they go to do a mission and aren't able to do that. It's happened to me and I wasn't being hacked, so it must have been a tail.

I take it there is no way to use your own music library instead of theirs? The same songs are already getting stale and the game has been out for less than 5 days

is anybody elses minimap ****ed up on PC , the small arrow that shows my location has been missing since the beginning of the game ..not game breaking but a little annoying when im trying to chase someone or evade police .
