I kinda hate the combat, kinda hate the camera too, but i've spent $20 on worse games.

Quick attack and the defense ability that lets you deflect arrows back at whoever shot them are where I'm at skill wise..

Combat is actually very good, especially so for an RPG. The dodge mechanics are really well done and killing enemies is very satisfying.

Camera concerns are legit though. I've been killed a couple different times because I can't see an attack coming directly in front of me. The ability to center the camera like most other third person games have would be very useful.

I hooked up a wired 360 controller to play on the pc and it made a huge difference.

I probably just suck at attacking then. Thanks for the tips and I'll google for more lol.

Eff this camera though. Seriously.

So I just got the potion that makes me regenerate vitality every time I use a sign, game just got a lot easier (just beat some random cyclops that was 10 levels above me easily)

I'm sure it helps that I'm maxed out on signs as my build as well but I can just go around using the fire sign on all enemies and dodge vs the ones who can actually hurt me.

Agreed about the camera angles, otherwise I've found the combat to be pretty satisfying so far.

The only thing that video showed was that the camera is pretty bad which I think most will agree on.

I have no idea what he's doing at the start where he claims to be locked on to a target when he's not actually locking on to them but just moving the camera so the auto target highlights different targets. He'd have to actually press a button to target a specific target.

And the "stumble, slash"-stuff he shows at the end is just what the tutorial taught you if you time the parry correctly, so I'm not sure what his point is there either.

I'm like a million hours in and just figured out if you're on a trail on your horse and hold A (xbox) then the horse will automatically follow the trail and you have infinite stamina.

I need to get rid of some junk or crafting supplies but I've got a serious case of hoarder, not being able to get rid of anything wondering if I'll need it later.

I pretty much get rid of everything in excess of 5 unless it's a valuable item. Don't worry about selling off herbs either, all of them are pretty common and can be purchased for cheap at an herbalist. The relics are what you want to hold on to as much as possible since they're very difficult to find in shops and are pretty rare loot items.

I just make sure to dismantle all the junk. All crafting stuff weighs .01 so it's not a big deal to hoard it all. I haven't had to sell anything off yet to pay for some of the more ridiculous quest pre-reqs like hand over 1000 gold or whatever so I've got basically everything accrued through 20 levels and it's like 1/4th my inventory when I start off fresh from selling stuff I've picked up off dead bodies.

Gwent is fun.. I just wish that the AI wasn't so ridiculously awful. Game is hardly a challenge when opponents just play out their whole hand in hopeless situations.

The worst part is when they have the game won and they play a weather card that hurts their score gifting you the win.

Should be a bit like FF8 triple triad where you actually can lose your good cards, but then can win them back straight away. Seems like opponent is risking their big cards and you risk nothing.

Still loving Gwent though, probably played it more than game haha. That really tough mage shop guy in Novigrad, cant beat him out of 10 attempts, he has like 5 spy cards/scorch cards every time, gonna go around and work on my collection. Basically have to have a perfect deal to have a chance, enjoy the challenge of beating him. Looking forward to big tournament whatever that entails.

I knew who you're talking about and yeah, he is ridiculous. In the first match I screwed the pooch and accidentally hit B after I used a revive card otherwise I would have beat him, but the next few attempts all ended up poorly. He has a ton of spy cards and scorches as you mentioned, plus he has several decoys in his deck to steal your spies. After seeing how powerful his deck was I openly forfeited a few mediocre draws until I got one that I liked and ended up winning.

It's a fun little mini-game but would probably suck PvP contrary to what some think. There's not enough strategy outside out of hording spies and decoys and having really powerful units. Still great for what it is though, and I think people who have ignored it are missing out.

Edit, finally beat mage guy and I didn't even get a good card off him, like a 5 melee card or something.

Anyone know where you can aquire scorch cards? like buy or win or is it all random.

Anyone play this on ps4? I'm wondering what the system performance is like. I normally play games on pc but my pc is outdated and I don't want to upgrade quite yet, so I'm gonna grab this one on console.

I've bought a couple but can't remember where. I only use 22 unit cards, no weather or decoy or spell type stuff.

Not using all of your decoys is defo a mistake.
