Lol - yea, I keep playing all these side-quests and witcher-missions thinking I'll just do a quick mission before bed and they turn out to be these huge story-lines that would justify the price of the expansion on their own.

I'm not a religious man, but dammit I want to build a shrine to CD Project Red.

Yeah Heart of Stone was excellent and Blood & Wine is basically the gold standard of video game expansions.

Super excited for Cyberpunk 2077.

Looking to get in to this again. I'm at level 10 and kind of like just browsing through secondary quests and doing random things throughout the world. Just helped the Pellar complete some ritual. Some guards came in and wanted to shut things down and I just stood there and let them do it. The Pellar seemed pretty bummed out so I loaded a previous save and decided to kill the guards. This game has so much flavor.

Do I need to get too far in to the crafting stuff? I'm just using weapons and armor that I've picked up randomly, doesn't seem like anything amazing. I've crafted a few bombs but haven't had to use them much. I feel like I'll eventually come to grips with how much there is to craft but right now I feel kind of like I did in Skyrim - pick all the plants and eventually I'll make something OP with them.

Generally, (and this is one of my annoyances with the game) the only gear you want to craft are the witcher treasure hunt gears. They are simply better than other stuff. When you see a vendor selling treasure hunt maps, buy them

Well, bombs and potions are decently useful too.

Yeah the only things I crafted were the Witcher armor sets. I used the Feline armor but had Mastercrafted sets of all the armor.

Did anyone actually end up grandmastercrafting (using the elf in the blood and wine dlc) more than one set of equipment? The costs are ridiculous, like maybe not enough wealth in the whole game to do every set ridiculous. Unless there's something I'm missing.

I knew there was a level above Master crafting but couldn't remember it.

Yeah I had all my sets Grandmaster crafted. Doing that for all sets was the first time I had to actually pay attention to mats and simply didn't just of piles of what I needed. It was the Enriched Dimeritium Plates and Ingots that were the most scarce I believe but I still had enough after upgrading previous mats.

Beat the game on death march. Did not wear any witcher gear. Go for what looks cool imo.

Yeah, that's cool armor. The Nilfgaardian armor that the quartermaster in Crow's Perch sells is the GOAT for sure. It's level 10 but i wore it until like level 22 because i just couldn't bring myself to take it off. Matching stuff for your horse looks awesome too.

Picked this game back up after about a nine month absence.

It's still GOAT.

I've been listening to to books on and off.

It's got me very tempted to play through again. Not sure I can justify the 200hrs when I get sucked back in though.

Just started playing Gwent, which I'm not sure is really deep enough/worth the investment to draw me away from Hearthstone.

I'm sure most already have the expansions, but if you are like me and only had the main game, they expansion pass is $12.49 on gog right now

If you've only got the main game you're in for a treat. The expansions are fantastic, and could be considered full games in themselves.

Gwent is super ugly, wtf was wrong with it's old appearance?

I said the same thing in a HS thread. The UI for Gwent is just awful. Somehow they made an entire dedicated game just for Gwent and somehow it has a worse UI and worse look and feel than the side game they probably threw together quickly for W3.

If all they had done is port the old Gwent GUI I think they feared that folks would claim they didn't try hard enough and that a standalone product deserved better. That said, I agree that they did a really poor job. It seems obvious that they should have kept the general feel/aesthetic of the old Gwent interface.

So, I finally started playing W3 after abandoning both W1 and W2 after a few hours of play. I thought there's no need to force myself if I'm not enjoying them and so far I'm absolutely loving W3 (as most likely expected). My only real grip about the game so far is how random the level of monsters seems when exploring new places? I'm currently in Velen at level 4/5 and it seems pointless to try to do anything other than main story line because if I try exploring I encounter mobs at level 10-15.

Yeah, do couple of quests, then you'll be 8-10 and can take those mobs on.
